My stay at the Rugosa was incredible. If I could give this place 10 stars I would without hesitation. Between the amazing artwork displayed all throughout, and all the amenities such as a beautiful atrium style room, fireplaces, cozy lounges and more, I can genuinely say this was the best stay that I have ever had at any place ever. The owner Joey was very friendly, and helpful at all times with whatever I might have needed. The room was very cozy and clean upon arrival, and this establishment is pet friendly so I met some furry friends along the way!! If you are considering visiting the area I highly recommend choosing to stay. Such a unique, relaxing, and enjoyable experience all around!!❤️❤️

Just wow! If you are looking for a clean, cozy, delightful place with a unique flair... the Rugosa Guest House is perfect! We were vacationing with our family of 8, ages11, 16, 21, 24, 47, 51, 71 and 72 years old....and each of us found many things to love about the Rugosa! The excellent customer service made it easy to make our reservations and check-in. Each room has its own personality, and did I mention the art? We found something new and interesting to look at in every corner of the Inn! My granddaughter even discovered a guitar leaning against a wall waiting to be played! She tuned it up and sang a few songs for us in the cozy living room. Check the Rugosa out! You won't be disappointed! Thank you Joey and Kurt! We'll be back!

“Guest House” is the perfect name for this place.
I’ve stayed at the Rugosa four times and it’s amazing every time. The rooms are like actual guest rooms in a wandering, old Cape house. There’s a fireplaced living room, a bar/lounge, an outdoor patio with a hammock….it’s like having a rich relative with a Cape house that you can wander around and look at artwork or just relax in. There’s even a usable kitchen so you can grab supplies and cook yourself a meal (or cupcakes).
Joey is incredibly accommodating and won’t leave a want, or a need concern unmet.
All the room we’ve stayed in are unique and usually have a hot tub, fireplace, or both.
Wide pine floors, vines climbing through the cathedral ceiling in the living room…I could go on and on but can’t recommend this place highly enough.

This place is the best. Easily the best and most relaxing place I've ever stayed. If you're looking for a place with a great location and great food on top of displaying museum quality masterpieces everywhere you look this is your place. Peace and tranquility unlike any you've ever experienced before await you. I'm already booking my return trip.

The owner was hard to reach and when I called to check in early, the phone carrier said the number was no longer in service. When we got there, we finally found one person and he told us it was an old number and to call another number. A guest working remotely in the dining area told us the place was nicer last year. When we were looking around there was a sign on the large giant refrigerator in the kitchen that it was broken. The room we went to was in the old part of the house and smelled musty. The "garden view" noted on the website was barely visible from a corner of the window in the bathroom. No refrigerator in the room. The bed was very high up and so were the stairs to the bathroom. We asked for a new room and left to go see some friends. I finally got a text from Joey who offered us another room that he claimed that he "had just cleaned". After we moved ourselves to the newer room in an adjacent building, it looked okay and we went out for dinner. I had noticed the fence lattices were peeling badly and didn't think that was particularly child friendly. When we returned, Joey had written to us that this room was more money. We agreed to a 'deal'. We began to notice that the bedroom light flickered. The wifi and tv were not working well and underneath the bathroom sink and floors there were many insects and spiders. I had to use toilet paper to clean them up and noticed that neither bathroom had an extra roll of toilet paper, nor tissues, nor a glass or cup for the sink. The other bathroom had a giant grease stain on the vanity. We moved the sofa to try to get a bug, and the floor was filthy there. The air conditioners were not properly installed and there was a multitude of open spaces near the baffles. It was late and we slept (sort of) there. We woke up early and told Joey we were checking out. He wrote to me "I'm sorry to disappoint. Sounds like this is the theme for you". I had paid for the room via their carrier and it took me over three months to get my charge reversed. I had stayed at this inn under previous ownership and it was great, and we had stayed there several times. Now, I would never go back there nor recommend it.

I couldn't be happier with my stay at the Rugosa . Joey provides everything you need. We booked the place for a week and it was the best choice we could have made. The location is ideal and the people we met during our stay were very courteous. Did I mention the place is FILLED with beautiful art wall to wall ?!? Ill be back again and again. This space is so ridiculously plush and dripping with amazing art. Rooms are well maintained and spacious. Loved the main entry room and all the plants and cozy looks. Can't wait to come back next summer!

Third time we’ve stayed here. The little house off on the side is super! Afforded us quite and privacy. In addition, we had a family emergency, and the owner offered to reimburse us for the night. We did not accept, and really appreciated it. Kindness.
