Prince of Whales - North Truro, Massachusetts

If you're looking for something rustic and don't want to stay in a hotel, this fits the bill. The cabin we rented was adorable. Interior and deck look just like the photos. Cabin was very clean. We loved having a little kitchenette - we brought our groceries and prepared very nice meals with the appliances and cookware provided. They really thought of everything - toiletries, dish soap, paper towels, etc. There is under bed storage for your bags; we would have liked more shelving and a few hooks to hang coats, purses, etc. We loved our little deck. We underwhelmed by the grounds and amenities, to be honest - I think we saw one couple play Cornhole, but other than that everyone pretty much stuck to their cabins. We appreciated that they are dog friendly and there is a little dog park area if you bring your furry friend. Overall it worked well for us.

Arrived 9:30 PM to check into the cottage. Greeted with 60 degree temperatures in the cottage. Heater was not working correctly.

Could not get cottage management to answer my emergency call. So we had a very cold night in the cottage. Had to wrap our small Yorkipoo in a blanket and we slept in sweat socks, sweatpants and sweatshirts.

6:00 AM next morning finally got the owner on the phone. She immediately got facility guy to bring us electric heater. The cottage heater is faulty according to facility guy. He was stunned no one took our emergency call the night before. He installed an electric heater. It worked to provide heat. He was very nice and helpful.

We are in our mid to late 60s in age and we rented the small cottage. That was a mistake on our part. Definitely will rent a much larger cottage next time.

The shower was very small.

My 65-year old wife had to bend her knees to access microwave (it was located close to the floor).

No place to store luggage or clothing in the small cottage. Had to stack our luggage (with clothing in the luggage) against front of kitchen sink cabinet.

Bed was comfortable. Need better pillows.

The cottages are in a great location.

Visiting from the UK and the cottage was everything we needed for a base for exploring Cape Cod and beyond. Quiet tucked away area but some good places to eat on the main road (US 6) and only 10 mins from Provincetown. Bed super comfortable, bathroom was good and TV was a bonus and basic kitchen for fixing up a quick breakfast or snack. Only things to maybe include would be a small rail with hangers to hang clothes or even just some more hooks.

Really love the cottage. Like a home away from home. I had to stay for close to two weeks for work in Provincetown so was a little far, but not a big deal. There are minor problems with the unit like the microwave door won't open because of a design mistake in the kitchen, dead batteries in the TV remote, but all in all a good roomy unit and comfortable. The only real complaint I have is with the lady doing the booking. I am in the service industry and understand how important it is for the customer to feel cared about. This is the hospitality service industry. I have not felt fully accommodated and cared about which leaves a negative feeling (and this review). And I'll leave it at that.

Overall we were extremely satisfied with the cottage. Great location (literally 10 minutes from P Town) numerous beaches nearby as well. Extremely low key & quiet (very relaxed atmosphere) we will absolutely be going back on our next trip to this area

We loved our stay at our Prince of Whales Cottage! Our cottage was extremely clean and had a beautiful porch! The kitchenette had all the utensils you would need if you want to cook there. There was also two beach chairs and an umbrella at each cabin for guests to use. Very close to the beaches as well!

The cutest tiny homes! Very modern and comfortable. The porch and outdoor furniture is a nice touch we enjoyed sitting outside. Easy to get to the beach, 13 min drive to the pier at P town. 3 min drive to the Truro winery. Very fun!

Very nice place, well located and clean.
However, the price displayed at the time of booking was more than doubled when charged to my credit card. When we booked, we could see a price of around $160 on their website, airbnb and expedia offered similar prices. So we booked directly on the Prince Of Whales website. Once booked, it was nearly double and $400 for Friday (I was never warned of this extra charge either) that I was charged. I tried twice to sort it out on the phone with them and no way to get them to admit the mistake.
Beware of this place and I suggest you book through a third party site like airBNB or similar.
I will never go back to this place.
