The campground is nice but I wouldn’t call it or pay the price of a resort. The amenities were regular you get at any campground, pool and a few activities.
What really brought the score down for me however was the cabin accommodations. The cabin looks nice enough and there’s some nice tiny details like they had a small pack of coffee and filters and little toiletries, but I would prefer skip all of that for the more important details.
To start I have never rented a cabin anywhere that did not come with a grill! It doesn’t say anywhere on the site that there are no grills, so arriving later on a Friday night planning to grill some burgers to find we didn’t have anything to grill them on was very aggravating. It also made the rest of the weekends dinner plans difficult as there was no grill available.
While yes a lot of people use camping to leave behind electronics, the WiFi was horrid even thought they advertise it. We had rainy days back to back and the tvs in the cabins have been locked from streaming. So yes after my kids had played every game we brought and played in the rain there was no option to just have them sit and watch a movie while being cooped up.
Absolute worst of all, was the mattresses! They were the hardest worst mattresses I’ve experienced anywhere ever. I didn’t sleep through the night 3 nights straight. You could punch your hand down and it just stayed hard and even. Unless or until those mattresses are updated I won’t be going back.

We recently began our camping adventures this year. As avid cyclists, we appreciate the proximity of the campground to the trail. The campground is generally well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. We have enjoyed our previous visits immensely.

However, we have noticed a concerning trend of rule enforcement laxity, particularly regarding the hot tub. The hot tub was overcrowded with children, leaving insufficient space for adults. It appeared that parents and children disregarded the posted rules. One of the primary reasons for the return of campers is due to the standards. We are optimistic that they will uphold the high standards..

Great campground.

All sites are full hookups and usually very level. Back in and done.

The pool is great but can be super busy on hot days.

Fishing in the lake is average but the fish IN the lake are all 2-3 lbs.

The bath houses are immaculate and very spacious.

The campground is HUGE. We walk every morning and the perimeter of the campground is almost 2 miles.

Just be aware that some site are in the FULL sun all day.

We are planning a Rally next year with a lot of friends.

We have been coming to Pine Lake pretty regularly for the past couple of years. Today we checked without a problem. Setting up in our site we found the water wasn’t working.
Staff responded quickly and had the problem fixed in less than an hour. Very impressed!

Use to be a fan of this campground when phil visited it and the staff hiring was managed by someone who cared about the campground and it's families. We recently stayed there and at 9:15pm a staff member drove by and told us it's quiet time in 45 minutes which we knew since we have visited the campground at least a dozen times. The staff member also told us that our kids were speeding around the campground on their bikes, what he didn't tell us is that he was swearing at the kids telling them to get the **** off the bikes before he takes them, brought it to the staff member when he came back and he said he didn't know who said that. The kids confirmed it was indeed the staff member and he should have a dashcam footage of it, talked to another staff member (the only sane one there) and he mentioned that he is the one who was swearing at the kids and he also has the ability to turn off the dashcam. At 10:30 the security guard came back and told us to be quiet, we had already turned off the music at this point and were just talking at the table, mind you that every other site around was doing the same thing and some louder then us. He came back very aggressive towards me and started staring me down, I had my kids there so did not do anything except ask for a manager. The manager came down and told us to shut up or hes going to call the cops, and at this point there were nobody was yelling. I told him if that's what you need to do then call them we aren't doing anything wrong. Fast forward 15 min later 4 cruisers came down and started off at first being very agressive and asked for licenses to run names, why? no idea... but everyone who was asked complied respectfuly. The staff told the police we were being loud and the cops bascially told us to quiet down and left, they also told the security in question to stay away from us. No other issues that night, in the morning we woke up to a knock at the door with 4 cruisers again telling us our group had to pack up and leave we were being kicked out (2 campers, 3 cabins) we left without an issue as we were planning on leaving anyways after being treated like that. The manager also told us he would refund everyone for the full stay if we left in the morning which he did not, so currently pursuing that. I am in the process of getting body footage from the officers and will seek legal action. We aren't sure if this was racially motivated or something else but we are going to find out.

This is not how a family campground should be operated, we were in a group with about 10 adults and 12 children, all the children crying while making smores while the cops ID'd the parents. Again nothing against sturbridge PD they were doing their job and even gave the kids stickers at the end. The new managment is basically hiring riff raff who were 100% looked like they were on drugs or something else so they can operate their campground cheaply.

The problem is hiring unprofessional transients for cheaper labor creates issues because they aren't trained to deal with people and especially small children, I would go as far to even say there is no background and cori check on the people they hire. The staff there get to park their camper for free and live free as long as they put in 40 hours a week, just imagine the types of people that brings in. Yes the good but also the bad and in this case it was 100% the bad and we can only blame the new manager for that.

After we left we found another campground to finish out the weekend which we loved so maybe a blessing in disguise.

Been camping with my husband and three girls for 4 years. WILLLLLL NEVER EVER give a cent to pine lake again. The staff is TERRIBLE. They hire people equivalent to the subjects In the movie “hills have eyes”. (No joke).
They do not get paid to work there. Instead they are allowed to live on site for free while taking their security jobs way to serious. And what is super serious to them is this “ driving around in their trucks ripping butts and harassing camp goers.” They have zero training on customer service and they creep the kids out. They follow them, swear at them antagonize about bike riding etc . Half the kids we brought this year ended up in tears and straight up fear. After my friends had left reviews they reply with complete lies. Thank god we were just given the ok from
Sturbridge police to view police body cam of this terrible incident. We all will post it on every website affiliated with this park. We left after one night and found a much better friendlier camp ground.

I typically try to rate my reviews based upon information that is available prior to booking along with what I experience during my stay. We had a very brief visit to Pine Lake Campground, and during our short stay, I’ve collected the following information: this Campground is probably most beneficial to those staying in the cabins as well as all campers that are looking to attend community events and activities. If that’s you’re thing, you are going to LOVE this place! Check-in staff was very pleasant and courteous. We were stopping in to catch our breath on our way from Maine to Delaware so we opted for a “Deluxe Pull Through” site, figuring we could just park and relax after a long drive. I hate to say that we just barely fit with our 39’ motorcoach (and Bronco in tow), and we were actually parked in a buddy site (which is where two RVs face one another and share a common space). So weird. No where online, or in their email, or even when we checked in, was it indicated or were we informed that we were in a buddy site. I would much rather have disconnected our tow vehicle and had room to sneeze in a back-in site (which is probably less money than the $87/night we spent on our “deluxe” site). 😩 Would have liked to use the pool the day we were leaving, but it doesn’t open until after 10 am. All in all, it’s a nice place, very kid friendly, we would go back again if we needed a place to stay while passing through, and would be wiser with regard to where to stay in the campground next time. We do recommend this campground.
