Great winter hike area ... lots of interesting inclines and trails beyond the gravel path areas. Hard to believe this reservation is tucked alongside Route 1 area. Definitely want to return in the Spring / Summer

Great spot for a walk. Love the asphalt walkways. Did see some dog owners walking dogs off leash. Also, it can be crowded. Always a flow of people through the park. I went after a snowfall, and it was a nice experience for me and my dog.

Most underrated park in New England. I’m obsessed with it and hope it continues to receive funding to maintain its natural beauty.

Husband & I spent a wonderful afternoon there starting from Forest Street. We followed Ridge Trail & Castle Rock Trail and visited Ash Hill, Eagle Hill & Castle Rock Hill, etc. The routes are pretty well-marked & easy to walk with good views. Highest point is about 280 ft. Next time will bring swimming suits and relax by Pearce Lake after hike. =)

Breakheart reservation: This is another amazing place to visit for Hiking, Biking 🏍, Horseback riding, Swimming 🏊‍♀️, Fishing 🎣 Cross-country skiing ⛷️ ⛷️ and educational programs.

The park was established in 1934.

Breakheart reservation is a public recreation covering about 652 acres (264 ha) across towns of Saugus and Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Was here with friends, and it's an inspiring experience for me. I would commend anyone who wishes to experience quite a movement nature to do a visit here.

Though, I was not able to take pictures showing all of the facilities, but they have the following:

1) Visitor center: The park is headquartered at Christopher P. Dunne Visitor Center, which opened in 2004. In addition to restrooms, educational programs, and information, the center has displays and exhibits that introduce aspects of the forest's wildlife and human history.

2) Swimming: The beach at the north end of Pearce Lake also has a first aid station during the summer months. I took a few pictures at the lake. The lake was divided into some parts, which shows areas considered too dangerous to swim 🏊‍♀️ through.

3) Trails: Trails are available for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing.
The park also offers fishing, orienteering, a tot lot, and a play area for dogs and their owners, Bark Place.

The reservation is free and open to everyone.

Let me show you some nice pictures I am sharing with you.

Beautiful trails and wildlife all around.
Fellow hikers are friendly and dogs are welcome here. I like that some trails are paved to make this forest wheelchair and stroller accessible.
There’s free parking and a playground.
Some of the peaks offer views of the North Shore to Boston.
