It's such a lovely place to walk by yourself or your whole family, including your furry friends. Lots of shade for these warm summer days. There's poo bag station, so be sure to clean up after your pets! There are Charcoal grills and picnic tables so spend the day. Also There's great fishing in the dam!

A beautiful place to go on any day from early spring to late fall. Very well laid gravel trail loop around a beautiful Westville lake. I think entire trail loop must be little over 1 mile to 1.5 mile. Climb few stairs to enjoy lovely views from a Dam. We love to visit this place atleast once per season. There are some well arranged and maintained benches with coal grills for a fantastic picnic with friends or family.

Some trail info for walkers and hikers.... First, it's just a nice, pleasant place to spend an hour or two. Around the lake.... The west (Sturbridge) side trail path from the main parking area to the Westville dam is part of the Grand Trunk Trail -- an old railroad project that never came to be with a connection to the Titanic disaster. This first part of the loop is wide gravel, gentle incline and decline. After you walk the rise up past the dam, the eastern (Southbridge) side of the loop trail back to the parking area is wooded, hilly and more like a hiking trail. Sometimes it can get just a little bit muddy and slippery if it has rained. The Grand Trunk Trail continues to the west of Westville Lake and the main parking area. The lower part of this trail is also walkable along Old Mashapaug Rd, a gravel road that follows the Quinebaug River. (Note that this part of the trail on both the upper and lower sections doesn't loop back around.) Last thing.... If you bring your dog, please clean up after it!

Very nice place to spend with the family. There is a little lake where kids can swim, and even life vests can be borrowed. Picnic tables are also available. You can bring your own food or cook in there in the grills.

In every season, Westville is a delightful walk under the sky and trees. Its extra-wide trails, the gurgle of the river, and the songs of birds make it a great place to visit. Parking is easy, and one can walk the Westville Dam loop or upstream to a couple of small bridges and places to sit with one's toes in the water.

It has covered pavilions for parties, picnic tables, and nearby grills for burgers and hot dog picnics.

Speaking of dogs, yes, leashed dogs are welcome and quite enjoy all the new things to see and sniff.

This place has terrific trails for walking and biking. Mostly flat, gravel trails. Has an entrance at the Pine Lake RV Resort. It’s about 6 miles if you do the entire trail but only about 4 miles is a loop.

Also has parking and a picnic area. Kept in great shape. We love to visit here.

Today I rode the trail from the dam side to West St. School. This route follows the river pretty close. Pretty level once you're down to the river. There are benches and picnic tables along the trail. The trail exit or entrance is in the back of West St. School by the lower soccer field.

There is also a kids' play area by the soccer field and parking area.

I like to come here to hike. It is scenic, but it is a small park and there's only about 3 trails. One of the trails is about 1 mile round trip, the other one is about 2 miles round trip, and the longest is about 4 miles round trip. You can also walk the paved roads within the park, but the roads aren't that long either. Also, I like to go biking here, but it's too small of a park to bike. It's good for kids though. However, they do have a nice recreation area that has covered tents that you can rent or picnic areas that you don't have to rent, and they have picnic tables, grills and a nice large grass field area where you can play badminton or volleyball.
