Simply put, one of the most lovely places in the American Southwest. This iconic location was used in numerous westerns over the years.

It is well worth taking a tour to see some of the areas off limits to the general public. Picture taking options are unlimited and the colors get even better close to sunset.

It will be dusty and the road can be sandy and rough. Although å four-wheel drive is not required, it would definitely make the drive å little more enjoyable.

The View restaurant and the overlook area when you first arrive provide ample viewing opportunities.

Monument Valley is an amazing place to visit. The breathtaking landscapes offer stunning views that are truly unforgettable. There are great trinkets available for purchase, which support the local community and schools, adding a meaningful touch to your visit. It's a lovely place overall. If you're planning to visit in your own vehicle, be prepared to give it a good wash afterward due to the dusty and rugged terrain. Highly recommended for a memorable experience!

Take the time and make the loop around. The road is very rough and sandy in a lot of spots. I personally wouldn't take a nice car around. But a truck or SUV not a problem. Well worth the various view around the loop.

What a great experience! Road was a bit rough in spots and they highly recommend a 4wd, but saw a few cars that seemed to do okay. Highly recommend this beautiful Park!

I would not recommend to drive with you own vehicle through the park. Sadly overall I think the Monument Valley Park could be so much more. When you come from the Arches National Park you can see how it could be look a like.

What a neat experience. Highly recommend! We paid $8/person entrance fee. There is an option to take a tour in the back of their tour vehicle. I believe that was $79/person. We opted to drive ourselves. The roads can be very rough in spots...our car made it okay. But we did have to avoid some large holes.

Beautiful to see. $8/person - same as 4 Corners as of April 2023 but completely different things to see here! We went on the scenic drive. We saw a mustang on the scenic dirt road - a bit crazy but… it’s their car! I’d recommend a higher off the ground vehicle! We were in a 4x4 but many SUVs were there. Some very steep tight corners to enter & exit. Very scenic. Navajo items available for sale at most stops. Pit toilets occasionally along the way. Make time to check out the Navajo Code Talkers Museum and the gift shop & even restaurant in the main building, with look out over the entire valley. Each area has its own closing time so don’t go too late in the day. Large parking area with levels for each type of vehicle. Usually quite busy.

Amazing place. The visitors centre is clean with a shop and restrooms facilities within. The shop is expensive, but all Native American crafts are.

The drive was fairly easy and took an hour at most. We had a crossover suv (not a 4x4) which handled it with ease. We saw hatchback on the road too. I would not recommend driving it in wet weather unless you have a 4x4. Tours are available too if you really don’t want to risk damage to your car.
