The site was a great find, a bit off the beaten path. The primary trail (Sandal Trail) to view the Betatakin dwellings was paved and easy to negotiate.

The Arrow Trail is STEEP. It says it is only 0.4 miles but definitely felt longer. Also, remember that you are at 7300 feet in elevation (50% higher than Denver) and make sure you have lots of water.

I would highly recommend this site!

Great park! Good ♿️ for those who need, Ranger walk to cliff dwellings not available when we came but easy hikes on prepared paths to viewing og one of the cliff clan houses. Friendly staff nice pottery exhibit & display. Currently No Fee camping- May, 2024, staff say may change in future.

Very nice park. Park rangers were very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a small gift shop, and a small exhibit with clean bathrooms. We took the Sandal Trail which was paved and very easy to hike. It’s about one mile and leads to one overlook of the canyon. There you can see Betatakin Cliff Dwellings.
