I stopped here on the way between two places to get a 30 minute walk in and it didnโ€™t disappoint. The parking lot was easy to find, and the trail access was clear. Iโ€™m visiting an early March and there is a lot of ice that I had to go around, but it was manageable. There is a nice forest, full of red oak, red pine, white pine, alder, gray birch, red maple. The fallen leaves, pinecones and needles made the stone, dust path, softer and quieter. Today is windy, and the causeway and rail trail overpass bridge is extremely windy, and really get to experience fetch as it comes across the water. Thereโ€™s some sort of interactive trail signs, and so so so many ventures. There are lots of little access points down to the water and lots of pretty distance. About 12 minutes into the walk I took a spur that led deeper into the woods and off the stone dust. It laid close to the water and broke up the wind. This area was teaming with life, wintergreen, Lycan, princess pine, even in late winter. I only saw one other person today, but itโ€™s Friday morning during the workday. There was also a porta potty and lots of information along the way. I will definitely return often as itโ€™s easily accessible off route 190.

Nice new bridge placed here within the last year. Awesome location between two bodies of water, right on the rail trail, with a view of Mount Wachusett.
