Really nice place, went for my first camping trip ever here. The older woman at the front desk is so helpful and kind. If it hadn't rained Monday I would've gotten to check out trails but instead I got a relaxing nap in the tent hearing the thunderstorm. Actually felt at peace here a couple of times which never happens for me. Definitely want to go back.

I can’t believe I had no idea this park was here! It is very secluded, even though there’s a lot in the area (such as an airport 3 miles away)!

You can hear interstate traffic a little, but it’s quite muted.

There isn’t a ton of reception, but you have enough. The staff are incredibly friendly and kind, and there are so many nature trails!

The main road is paved and spacious. Side roads are not paved and can be thin and quite rocky in parts.

They have a beach, a field, bathrooms, and, my favorite, yurts!!!

I saw an accessible trail, which I think is amazing, and there are these signs that mention locations where Homesteads used to be (off different parts of the roads).

It’s much less crowded than camps that are a little bit closer to the city, but it really isn’t that much farther, and, unlike Carver, it has cell phone reception. 😛

Kid friendly, dog friendly. Clean. If you're a hiker or a biker, there's plenty of trails to keep you busy. The plots are spaced nicely apart. Bathrooms have a shower and there are dishwashing stations. The ground was very rocky where we stayed so I suggest layers to sleep on if you're sleeping in sleeping bags like we did. The lake to swim in is clean and there's also places to fish. Basketball at the front of the park.

Great camping place to explore, only 1 town away from home. Family , couple, or other oriented. Very quiet & no boom box noises, simply nature, water, & monitored visiting to help keep things " Old fashioned" yet new again.

Amazing location for hiking, there's easy to more difficult paths for the whole family to enjoy. The overlook is also a very cool spot to check out if you can make it up the terrain. The large ponds near the entrance of the park holds a large variety of wildlife from hawks to turtles. Hoping to come back soon with the family when the weather gets warmer. I've been in the snow and the experience was still very good, everything is plowed to make walking easy.
