We had a corporate team outing in late July at La Vida Adventure Pursuits. We had Josh, Joshua, Erlin and Christian as our guides for our 3 hours team-building event. Our group was very hesitant about an outdoor adventure event but Josh and his team really showed us a great time. It was a perfect day with perfect weather. Over the past three years, I have brought my youth group to Adventure Pursuits to close up the summer and kick-off our fall programming. It is consistently a highlight of the whole year for my students, volunteers, and myself. The staff is always highly engaged and create an exciting environment for our students. The site itself is perfect for an overnight and we have made some lasting memories around the campfire, up in the trees, and on the shore of the pond. I planned a field trip with La Vida Adventure Pursuits for group of 30 alternative high school students in grades 9-12 and 7 chaperones! We participated in a full day experience. Low ropes team building activities in the morning and high ropes courses in the afternoon with a break for lunch. The director, Josh was extremely helpful and made the planning of the field trip smooth and easy! They were able to modify their full day ropes course to a shorter day to accommodate our school day with ease. The day of they were very flexible and willing to work with us even with us showing up late because of a bussing issue.

The interactions with the staff at La Vida were the most positive and productive part of the whole day! We really enjoyed having our students interact with new adults and still feel as though they could trust them to lead them through activities! The staff was extremely knowledgable, patient, and supportive with our students that are very loud and impulsive and our students that are very anxious and quiet! Most of all they just had fun with us! We had a blast and would suggest this type of trip for any group, but especially high school students. We felt like there was a lot of team bonding and opportunities for students to get outside of their comfort zone!

For a lot of students this was a completely new experience and this trip was the highlight of their year. So many student's expressed how much fun they had and asking if we could return the next year!

We are hoping to return for an overnight experience in the future!

I have brought a group from my University to La Vida Adventure Pursuits for over 10 years. We do a full day of low-ropes and high-ropes. Each time we go, the event goes smoothly and my students learn a great deal about themselves and working together. They also bond much more deeply than previously! I can't recommend them more highly!

UPDATE Oct. 2021: After having to take some time off due to COVID-19, I was able to take a group of students up to La Vida again yesterday. It really was so fabulous, and reminded me why I have continued to attend all of these years. The staff are upbeat, trustworthy, and professional. The day was flawless, and my students once again got so much out of the day. Thanks again for hosting us this year!
