First of all, the staff , especially the front desk are friendly and very accommodating. Nice touch that they provide coffee in the lobby in the morning. We got a deluxe king room which was roomy and relaxing. The room has almost a Japanese Zen vibe. You almost feel like you could be in a spa. Our bed was incredibly comfortable with high end sheets and blankets. Pillows had ‘body’, not to soft. Nice table with two chairs are outside your door. Since it was raining, we brought ours indoors for some wine and cheese relaxation. There were a few issues. The bathroom shower is an accident waiting to happen. Incredibly slippery with no bar handles and no hooks for towels. In fact, there are no hooks in the entire room. We went to the dollar store and bought some. They provide cubbies for your clothes. It felt like we were in a daycare center. Really, who designed this? We stayed here because they have an indoor pool and hot tub, perfect for a September trip. Guess what… the hot tub is not heated and was freezing. The enclosed structure was leaking like crazy and we quickly went back to our rooms very disappointed. Another small issue was the fact that there are no spotlights on their motel sign at night. It was pitch dark at night and we passed the entrance twice because you could not see where you were going. Such an easy fix! Would we come back next year. Yes because these are improvements that can easily be made by next year. We actually look forward to it.

We stayed here in June 2023 and had a great experience. Cute, minimalist rooms, perfect for a couples getaway. The grounds are awesome (loved the pools and sauna) and super convenient to various parts of the cape.

We stayed here this past week and had a less than stellar stay. Check-in is at 4, but we received a text while driving down saying the office is closing at 6 with instructions on how to obtain keys “after hours”. Very weird to have only a 2 hour check in window, especially mid week. I know it’s not peak season but it’s still a hotel after all. Anyways, we pulled in just after 6 and there were people in the office so I popped in and they quickly ushered me out and told me the office was closed even though they were helping another guest. It was a very odd experience to have staff just inside the door essentially watching me use the lock box to obtain keys. For the cost, and what seemed to be a lack of guests at the hotel, I was disappointed in the service.

Lastly, and I’m not sure why I didn’t notice this last time, but the walls between rooms are paper thin. The people next door were having a conversation in a normal tone of voice and it startled me awake at 6:30am because I thought someone was literally in the room with us. Just something to consider when staying here…a sound machine may be a good idea.

I think for our next cape stay we may try different lodging. It’s a shame because we love the Bluebird chain and have had positive experiences at other hotels.

We returned to the Bluebird Dennisport (formerly known as the Colonial Village Motel) this week as a getaway. We had spent our honeymoon here 43 years ago and wanted to see the renovations. We were not disappointed. The rooms are very nice and modern. The “wet bar” contains a sink, refrigerator, hot pot, and microwave (no dishes or utensils). Coffee is available in the main lobby but we like our coffee very early so we brought our own coffee maker. The AC worked great. The pools are very nice with lots of loungers. The beautiful beach is less than a 10 minute walk. When we told the staff we stayed here 43 years ago, they brought us an anniversary cake. So thoughtful!! We plan to return to the Bluebird in the future with our granddaughters. Thank you for a great stay.

Had to stay one night and it only provided the bare minimum. It seems like it used to be a motel. Positives were that young families were enjoying the pool. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a large step up into the room. The iron and ironing board were missing. Other than the two beds and a shelf on the wall between them, there was no furniture. Not a chair or a table or anything. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. You can hear everything. The curtain in the bathroom did not provide privacy, so we pushed a towel around it. You have to climb all the way in the tub to start the shower because of a glass partition. Wish we had known all of this before we booked. Would have gladly spent more to have the privacy and the necessities.

Overall it was a great stay. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. Service was great, everyone was responsive and kind.

The only problem is that they couldn’t get the pools right: at the end of the day it would be cloudy and they had to close it down to treat the water.

Sauna was out of use for the same reason.

I would’ve also liked some backyard games as other Bluebird hotels have.

Perhaps some muffins along with the weak coffee would’ve been a nice addition.

We enjoyed it but it can definitely be better!

We had a great family trip and really enjoyed our stay at the property. We stayed in the cottage where there were 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen |The kitchen was very nice with upscale appliances and the living room was comfy. Bathroom was nice and clean. Both bedrooms had comfortable beds and good AC. The only problem I had was the lack of good lighting in all rooms. At night it was very dark in the cottage in all rooms. In addition there was no draws to put clothes in and not enough hangers to hang clothes. The staff was very nice and helpful and the property very cool vibe with fire pits and 2 pools. The location on the cape was a good spot with restaurants and beach near by.

We used the Bluebird for our hotel wedding block and couldn't be happier with our choice! ||The booking process was incredibly smooth, and the entire Bluebird team was responsive, friendly, and helpful throughout. ||Our guests absolutely LOVED their stays, and had nothing but great things to say about the clean rooms, incredible pools, and fantastic location. The furnishings and design are updated and modern, a much needed breath of fresh air on the Cape. ||If you're looking for a great wedding block at an incredibly fair price, I can't recommend the Bluebird enough.

This was my first time on Cape Cod. It was trip I decided at the last minute and relied only on tips from a friend who lives on the Cape. I searched for hotels near the beach since I wanted to have a beach vacation and time to focus on writing. The pictures on the hotel website give the impression that it is located on the beach. It was a disappointment to arrive to the hotel and realized that we were a few blocks away from a small, rocky beach.||The size of the room was comfortable. The air conditioner was loud, and it kept waking me in the middle of the night when the automatic temperature control was triggered. I also missed not having a desk in the room or an area on the hotel premises where I could sit down and write. There is a small table an chair outside the room, but the table is too small to set my computer and notebook.||Please understand that, since this was my first time visiting the Cape, the references I’m using for comparison are of hotels in other regions, not of other hotels on the cape. I learned that Cape’s hotel rates are high compared to hotel in other regions. I expected to find other amenities, such as a coffee/tea shop where I could enjoy my tea with some breakfast pastry, not necessarily a full breakfast. Every morning, after I woke up, I would go down to the reception area wearing my pajamas to get a couple of tea sachets to bring back to my room to make myself a cup of tea. Why not to have the tea bag in the room already?||Gladly, I had a car, and I could drive myself around to find other beaches and places to have breakfast. I found a small bakery about 10 minutes away walking. It would be nice to offer guests a list of nearby places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.||In general, it was a pleasant stay.
