Finally got out to see these beautiful dogs today and was not disappointed! Bret will answer any questions you may have about the breed. The dogs are all so wonderful in their own way. Amazing how these large animals can be so docile and pup-like, even at 150 pounds.

Great educational opportunity to learn about this magestic breed (The Alaskan Malamute) in both its Giant and Standard formats. The large pack of 15 Mals will steal your hearts and leave you dreaming about your experience for years to come. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ₯°

My fiance and I had such a great time with Brett and "The Boys" yesterday!! Your money goes directly to providing the dogs the exciting and comfortable life they so truly deserve.
You'll see some negative reviews on here. Brett had his start unconventionally, and started all of this because he just had dogs that people wanted to pet. He also wrote a book with his first Malamute (Max) as one of the main characters. Because his dogs are big and fluffy and wonderful, people were just just walking up to his house, asking to pet his dogs, and they were not being respectful of the dogs. They are not an attraction, they are an opportunity to connect with other members of nature.
You'll also see in those negative reviews that they mention Galena. The family has since moved to Bellevue, Iowa, and they have further figured out this "tourism thing." The dogs (and Brett and Kim) have 5 acres instead of one-half acre, and they are so dang happy. Brett is not the grump depicted in those reviews either, albeit not anymore. We were afforded the opportunity to converse like old friends. A completely new environment can do wonders for a person.
Brett knows his dogs, so listen to the guidelines he conveys. With everyone's risk mitigated, you get to enjoy these dogs and people in their own home like part of the family.
Those dogs loving to meet new people are what drives this ship. Don't miss the opportunity to be covered in Malamute hair and unconditional love.

This place is absolutely amazing! I have been there two times so far, and every experience is a blast! The owners Brett and Kim are AMAZING ! They truly love their animals and what they do. They do this because their dogs truly enjoy meeting every single person! The dogs are absolute sweethearts, and love everybody! I would not believe any of the one star reviews! They obviously have never been there, or were very rude to the owners because they expect everything to be handed to them for free! If you have have been there then you would know.... they do have a fence!! People are just rude and think it's okay to just walk on through! It's a place you can visit, but it is still their home, and everybody should be respectful. Please give this place a chance you will not regret it! Every time we come down here for vacation that will be a must do! Last time they only had 8 dogs now they have 9! Each experience is different and is always rewarding.

Gorgeous, gracious, affectionate dogs, beautiful landscape, and wonderful humans. A fantastic experience for anyone interested in learning more about and spending some time with one of the original working breeds. The owner is not an angry, rude white man as some prior reviews have stated. Quite the contrary. These are people who understand and respect the breed. As a former Malamute owner, if you pulled up and sat in my driveway I would have the same reaction. He was protecting and controlling the pack. Understand the breed before you place judgment. Thank you Plumery Tails for giving me and my family a day of sheer joy! Highly recommend!

My mother, sons (3 and 1) and myself were treated so horribly by the owner, we definitely do not recommend this place to anyone visiting or local to Galena. After trying to call all morning but getting a busy signal because the number that connected from the website was wrong, we decided to walk over to see if we could get information and set up a time to meet the dogs. It's a short walk from my house and when we got there we were mindful to stay far from the fence and dogs, and we went directly to the "gift shop". The owner had run out to put the dogs away, then begrudgingly came to the shop and asked what we wanted. I explained about the phone and showed him the problem, which he blamed on me (as if I put his incorrect phone number onto his website). Then I asked for information and if we could set up a time to see a dog or dogs (since my kids are young I knew seeing the dogs through the fence to learn about them and maybe buy a book was about all we were going to hope to do, which would have been great for them!). Instead of explaining anything like a civil human, he rudely exploded saying things like "this isn't a petting zoo", "kids shouldn't be here anyway" and "why don't you teach your kids to read and buy my book rather than putting them in front of a massive dog who sees your kid as a play toy!". I stood there shocked and tried to make him understand we were only trying to support his local business and have a fun thing to do in the neighborhood that we could recommend to others, but he was not willing to listen to reason or genuine communication. He just wanted to bully us and be angry. If he doesn't want people walking into the driveway, a gate would do wonders! Implying that it's an "amusement park" sure suggests it's a welcoming and kid-friendly place. Don't be fooled - this is not welcoming, friendly in any way (except probably the dogs, I'm sure they are sweet and innocent of their owners aggression), or a place to be recommended.
