10/10 recommend visiting this! Loved how interactive it was for my kiddo. The Bob Ross exhibit was world class! Excited for upcoming exhibits to come and will definitely return.
As an aside, we were able to get entry passes thanks in part to our library as we live locally in the area. Thank you to our public works and services for making engaging local history accessible for families!

Love this place! Been twice. First just to view the museum and then came back for a scouts geology class. Small museum but the kids love the fossils and dinosaurs and I enjoyed learning some local history! Even found an old picture of the school district I work in from when it was a one room school house! We will definitely come back!

A nice afternoon visit to learn some interesting local history followed by a tranquil viewing of many Bob Ross paintings. It was a perfect activity during a cold and rainy day. We were a little surprised to discover this solid museum just a short drive away. It's certainly worth the visit and the entry tickets are certainly reasonable especially if you're a local.

Amazing museum rich with local history and interactive exhibits. From fossils, the native tribes to the modern day Lake County we know. I visited on a Sunday afternoon, luckily there was not too many people so I was able to take each piece in depth. Entry fee for LC residents is 6$, very worth the price. My favorite parts where the interactive maps, where you could drag a window over a current Lake County map and compare it with maps of the past. Incredible to see about 100 years ago most of it was just land. The Native American exhibit was amazing. Unfortunately the seasonal exhibit was closed so i was not able to explore further. Look forward to coming back again!

Fantastic museum! We went to see the Bob Ross temporary exhibit and we pleasantly surprised at the quality of the museum and the staff. The diorama's were very interesting and the progression of the museum going from the earliest of Earth's history to the early 20's was very well done. The staff were very friendly and informative. A definite hidden gem.
