Fantastic Stay with Great Amenities and Friendly Staff!

I recently stayed at The Chateau Hotel in Illinois with my two children, and we had a fantastic time! One of the highlights was the large pool and hot tub—my kids had a blast swimming. While the pool was supposed to close at 10:00 PM, we appreciated that the staff went the extra mile to allow guests to continue enjoying the amenities a little longer.

The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had—plentiful, delicious, and well-prepared. Our standard hotel room was surprisingly spacious, more so than most other standard rooms we've stayed in. While the hotel has an older appearance, it is mostly updated, and the vintage touches add character rather than feeling outdated.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. We also loved the noon checkout time, which gave us a more relaxed morning before heading out.

Overall, I highly recommend The Chateau Hotel for families or anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay!

Beautiful hotel located just minutes from everything in Bloomington-Normal. The hotel is going through a remodel to no doubt upgrade rooms and some amenities but they are doing a fantastic job of keeping the original aesthetic that makes this hotel so charming.
We stayed in one of the updated rooms and it was nice. While the hotel features remain unchanged (hopefully) the rooms are being updated for modern needs. No wall decor as of yet. Comfortable beds and pillows. No noticeable exterior noises from either the streets or other residents. The bathroom does not have an exhaust fan, which made them very steamy after showers.
The general manager and both front desk staff I interacted with during my stay were examples of what hospitality should strive to be: extremely friendly, accommodating, and responsive.
We are visiting Illinois Wesleyan as a possible college for one of my kids. If they decide to go there, the Chateau is where we will stay whenever we visit.

Our experience was great! This was a unique place that the kids loved, and we had fun wandering around looking at all the castle-like things. Everything was clean, the breakfast was great, and we really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here recently on a family vacation through town. I wish I could review this as well as others had, but our experience was below subpar. Upon evening check in, we realized quickly our shower had next to no pressure. It was dribbling out of the bottom of the shower head and not much more. With two toddlers, this was already a difficult process. I went to the front to let them know and as it was late, they said they would get to it in the morning. 11am came and still no one came by. Went back to the desk and checked in before leaving and they said they would have it fixed while we were gone. Came back to an untouched shower and a room that hadn't been fixed or cleaned. It's now 8pm and I go to the front again and ask and am told they weren't told anything so it wasn't done. Follow up the next day (day 3 with no shower pressure.) Front desk then tells me maintenance did fix it and she had already addressed it (they had not.) It was just day after day of employees refusing to help a very simple issue, or even offer to switch us rooms. The rooms AC system was covered in dust and dirt and the top of the microwave had black burn marks that were easily wiped away. The final straw was a couple arguing so loudly down the hall that we could hear them from the elevator. I let the front desk know and they called a RANDOM room and told them they were receiving noise complaints. The problem was, it was my wife they called. I walked up to the room to see the front desk clerk berating another random innocent family at their door for "noise complaints" and never even made it to the drunk couple down the hall actually threatening to harm each. Staff could care less about the comfort or the safety of their guests. I sent this to the general manager as well as the assistant. I received a generic response and a comped night for our shower less and dirty room. Appreciate that guys. Next time, at least a truck stop would have been cheaper and has working showers...Videos are of water pressure at it's highest, and the awesome screaming sound we got to hear whenever someone else turned on their hot water.

Hark. The lions guard the doors to the promised land. Upon gracing the entryway the smell of chlorine and embraces you like an old friend. Whispers of nostalgic family vacations echo from the claw machine as the water features trickles to the rocks below. I was graciously introduced to my home for the evening by a lovely lady behind the desk. My quest for food led me across the road, on foot, to a fantastic Korean meal. After a powerful pressure wash shower I lavished beneath the heat lamp and cozied up for a rest well deserved. The Chateau is the only appropriate name, because I was home.

It was fun staying at this unique hotel. There is shopping and restaurants, mostly fast food in the area. Unfortunately the hot tub was under maintenance when we visited. A nice pool and hot tub are things we consider when booking a room. The floor was not kept clean or dry. It seemed to be a busy weekend. But more attention would be nice. The breakfast was well stocked. I would prefer gravy for biscuits without meat in it. So I skipped it. I did have yogurt and a boiled egg. If you want coffee, please consider bringing bottled water yourself and making it in the room. No fault of the hotel, but the water in this area is TERRIBLE. I tried a cup of coffee in the lobby and couldn't finish it. Strong moldy flavor. We have noticed this at several other places..I fortunately travel with plenty of water and just made several cups in my room.
The bed and pillows were not comfortable at all.
