The first time my sister had eaten here. I stop in every time I come through going and coming to Ohio. I had picked her up in Ohio to bring her to Illinois for Thanksgiving week. I had breakfast she had a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. Our waitress was pleasant and welcoming. Our food was cooked as ordered and the atmosphere clean and friendly. Always pleased with the service and food.

We were passing thru town on a Saturday night and the clerk at the hotel recommended Jack's Cafe. When we arrived, we were promptly greeted by Holly. She was very friendly and took us to a table right away. After we sat down, it wasn't long until Emily came over to help us place our order. We had some questions about the Saturday specials and she was great at explaining then. We finally decided on the Lasagna (Emily's favorite) and the Catfish Alexander. Our salads came out exceptionally fast and as soon as we were done with those, our entrées arrived. I had the Catfish and after I let it cool, it was outstanding. The hollandaise sauce was very very tasty. The light and fluffy Catfish was excellent and the lump crab meat on top did just that, topped it off. I was told that the lasagna was obviously homemade and incredibly tasty. Had I been allowed to share it, I might have first hand knowledge. It was so good she was not interested in sharing. All in all, this was one of the best dinner choices we had made in a while. If you are in the area, we suggest you stop in. If you do, say hey to Holly & Emily.

Maybe I am getting old,but it is so nice to eat someplace that isn't a themed restaurant. No obnoxious servers running around singing Happy Happy Birthday or ringing bells or sirens. Just a nice quiet place to get a top notch meal. Now the server could have checked to see if everything was good. But I won't complain about that because everything was perfect. Restaurants like this are a rarity nowadays. And oh yeah! The prices are unbelievably affordable! For the cost of a combo meal at a Wendy's or McDonald's, you can get a full blown meal, including dare I say,vegetables! As someone who is forced to eat alot take out,I highly recommend this spot to all truck drivers.( there is a Loves across the street).

First time coming here. The service was excellent and the food was really good. They give you a generous portion of food so that's nice. Overall everything was great, a little pricey for lunch but other than that I can't complain about anything. Also, I'd rather pay a little more and have excellent service than go somewhere a little cheaper and have subpar service!
