I stayed there twice this past weekend, 2 different rooms, and both were disappointing. The room in the lodge wing was right next to the elevator and every time it went up/down it woke us up and sounded like a train rumbling by. Also the bathroom wasn't clean. Then we stayed in one of the cabins later on in the weekend last minute and there was dog hair all over the bed even though no dogs are allowed, hair all around in the bathroom, and noisy neighbors. Very disappointing.

Rented a king sunset cabin for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. Romantic, beautiful, and easy! I wouldn’t call it luxury, but the cabin has everything we needed, including a beautiful view. Waterfall hiking within a two minute walk and right next to the pool. Can’t wait to come back!

I got a sunset cabin and it was very cute, but just a tad small. Right outside the door was the start of some of the western trails. I loved my experience here and would go again. Getting a room on site made coming back from hiking very rewarding!

Great trails!! The history of the Rock is just one aspect of the wonderful State park.
There are great caves and spots to take pictures as well. Be ready for a walk! Bring lots of waters and some snack for this adventure!

It was an awesome experience when we stayed in 2017 in one of the cabins. We loved being able to go right from the cabin to the trails. The only downside was that we kept finding wasps in our room like get rid of one and there was 2 more. Besides that it was awesome!

Be aware that if you bring a doggie friend with you to stay in one of the Pioneer dog-friendly cabins that you MUST present proof of vaccination when you check in. This policy is stated clearly in the 'Dog Policy' page on their web site, but it is not stated on the one-page reservation that I had printed out to bring with me to prove I had reserved a cabin for the weekend (there are other helpful reminders printed on that 1 page sheet). I did mention to the person who checked me in that this would be extremely helpful to guests as a reminder, since I had made my reservation 10 months in advance and forgot about this policy. Fortunately they accepted the rabies tag attached to my dog's collar as proof of vaccination, but if they hadn't, I would have had to make a 3 hour round-trip drive back to my house to dig up the proof of vaccination papers. Yikes! So just beware.
