My wife and I took a three-day, two-night trip on the Lady of the Sea. This was the first overnight boat trip my wife and I had taken.

The name of the boat is perfect: she is a lady from stem to stern: lots of wood and space, all maintained beautifully. Though the boat only has three guest quarters, our room was comfortable and quiet, and we appreciated having a private shower.

And the crew: Captain Rand fostered complete confidence in his seamanship. It was obvious he had grown up in Kachemak Bay. Both Rand and his assistant captain Mike showed their background as schoolteachers, always ready to tell us about what we were seeing without ever being intrusive.

The food was magnificent as well. One night Rand’s wife Lauren, a former culinary teacher, cooked and the other night a chef who Rand had taught in school cooked. Both prepared inventive and well-executed dishes. And Mike made sure we all had plenty of snacks on our excursions!

We hiked and kayaked from the boat and that was well organized and we enjoyed the outings very much. We hiked to a glacial lake, and kayaked around small islands, and ate lunch on the beach. We also saw a lot of terrific sea life throughout the trip – a humpback whale that breached twice! Seals, sea lions, sea otters, eagles, puffins, and more!

We would highly recommend a booking on Lady of the Sea!

Alaska may be known for its ruggedness, but you will feel nothing, but pampered bliss on this amazing yacht adventure. My husband and I loved our dinner cruise. Our meal took local ingredients and infused them with creative magic to make mouth watering delights.

As for the scenery I am not a birder, but I wish I was because I would have been in a bird identifying frenzy. It was such a treat to be so close to puffins, otters, and we even had a goat sighting. All of this with a glacial view backdrop. Wow!

The staff were all lovely locals with so much knowledge they happily shared. We highly recommend the Lady of Sea. Our only regret was we didn’t sign up for overnights.

By far the classiest way to explore Kachemak Bay! And not to mention, the chef aboard exemplifies fine dining. Incredible chef, and an incredible experience, a must try for your once in a lifetime Alaska adventure!

I highly recommend Lady of the Sea Adventures for everyone - visitors and life-long Alaskans (like myself) alike! My family and I had the most relaxing and beautiful stay-cation experience with the lovely and talented crew aboard the incredibly welcoming and comfortable vessel. Everyone, from the six year-old to the grandparents, had an amazing adventure and new favorite memories to take back home with them.
