Joining Carpe Mundo’s Italy trip, we biked along the Adige river through small Italian villages, vineyards and around Lago de Garda in perfect fall weather. Mero and our local guide Francesca were absolutely outstanding – owner/leader Mero coordinated all the logistics (including meeting us at the train station at midnight in Bolzano) while Trento local Francesco filled us in on a wealth of history and expertly guided us through the maze of bike paths along the Adige River and through the cobblestone- streets of the villages. The biking was mostly flat with a few hills -- an option to rent an e-bike made all the difference for one guest with a sore hip, making it easy for her to make any hills. Accommodations were top notch – at Lago de Gardo, we stayed right on the beach within a short walk to the castle village in Malcesine and Monte Baldo’s funivia. There was plenty of flexibility in this small group tour (just four guests) to give us time to explore and dine on our own, including paragliding from the top of Monte Baldo. The journey ended in the beautiful town of Verona where we biked along the river and explored the ancient arena, castle walls, cathedrals and festival of games on our own. Wow!

I went on the Iceland Hiking and Germany Biking trips, and both were incredible! I’ve been to Iceland several times before, but doing this hiking trip is by far my favorite way to see the country. The views are unreal, and the leaders make the hike much more enjoyable (and safer) than if I had gone on my own. The food we ate while hiking was actually better than the food I usually eat at home. Carpe Mundo also helped arrange a self drive trip for me and my friends after the hike- the recommendations on places to stay and activities to do were great. In Germany, this was my first time doing a biking trip (or really biking more than 5-10 miles) but I LOVED it! I’ve been to Germany before, but this trip let us experience “the real Germany”- stopping in little towns, eating delicious food, going wine tasting, and even spending the night in a castle (coolest place I’ve ever stayed- I didn’t want to leave!). The leaders were all fantastic, and having a leader from Germany really added to the trip. I would highly recommend these tours to anyone looking for an incredible trip- I can’t wait to travel with Carpe Mundo again!

Traveling with Carpe Mundo is one of the best decisions I've ever made! I went on both the Iceland hiking trip and the Germany biking trip. The leaders were attentive, caring, and incredibly well-prepared! They also went the extra mile to make sure that your experience was exemplary through offering travel tips prior to leaving and then treating you like royalty while on the trips! I would highly recommend traveling with them, you will feel comfortable and at ease while exploring some of the most beautiful places on earth!!

I went on the Iceland Hiking Tour and it was absolutely incredible! The guides were very friendly and always super helpful. Going on a 6-night backpacking tour can be so much planning and stressing over all the details but Carpe Mundo took care of everything, planning the meals, coordinating all the big gear, packing lists, etc. The value was really good too - I feel like they easily could have charged twice as much for everything they offered. And of course, Iceland was breathtaking - definitely an experience of a lifetime backpacking the Laugevegur Trail and something I will never forget. Would definitely recommend!

Best trip I've ever been on. Biking through Germany was a great way to see everything along the Rhine River and experience a different City every night. I was nervous because I hadn't been on a bike in about 15 years, but I was able to keep up with the group easily. Definitely recommend the Germany trip, can't wait to go on more tours with Carpe Mundo!

I took two trips with Carpe Mundo in the summer of 2016, one to Iceland and one to Germany.

Both trips were fantastic from beginning to end. Mero Geesey was fantastic throughout the entire process. From the moment I signed up for the trips I received details emails, weeks ahead, with travel itineraries, packing lists, and other helpful items such as cheapest flight information from the moment I left the states to the moment I landed in said countries, even which buses to take into the cities.

The execution of the trips was flawless. To explain the things I was able to see and experience on these trips is impossible. I was able to traverse some hiking trails, lay in hot springs, see waterfalls, kayak in glacial water, bike along the Rhine, sleep in castles, sip on the finest wines and sleep comfortably every night in new cities I never even knew existed! Every day was meticulously planned by Carpe Mundo and any last minute adjustments to the Itinerary were thoroughly communicated in advance.

I will absolutely be traveling with Carpe Mundo in the future and be recommending my friends and family do the same.

Wonderful experience with our guide, Giri and 3 other couples on the Carpe Mundo Iceland Highlights 5 day tour. While the distance heading both west and then east of Reykjavík was substantial, our experience and stops made each day unforgettable. When I carelessly stepped on some sharp lava the stone cut through my Ecco boot. Giri quickly offered me his own hiking shoes which saved 1/2 of the trip. And when the sky cleared to show northern lights for the first time three hours after our week’s tour ended, Mero, the owner, brought out a second van, hot cocoa and Baileys to take us outside the city lights to make sure we had a view. We loved their thoughtfulness and company.

I went on the Iceland highlights trip and I couldn't imagine it being any more amazing. Mero was an incredible guide who truly knows his way around the areas and even several secret spots! He planned some fun, outdoor activities as well as loads of sight seeing. I was not bored for one second! I will definitely be planning to go on another trip through Carpe Mundo!
