Excellent experience. Cpt Gerald is incredibly knowledgeable about the Everglades and clearly has a vested interest in conservation. We saw plenty of wildlife, including several alligators, and the airboat ride itself was very fun! There are plenty of commercial options for touring the Everglades, but I would highly recommend Everglades airboat excursions for a more personal experience.

Took a 1.5 hour private tour with Captain Gerald. It was a great experience with a knowledgeable guide who explained everything about this area of the everglades and answered all questions. The boat makes stops at various spots and Gerald explains what you are looking at. Saw one mother alligator guarding her nest. At his camp, you get to see baby turtles (seasonally dependent) and baby wild alligators in the water under his porch (no touristy alligator show). The boat ride is quite easy and not scary or fast at all. The launch point is about 1 hour from Miami Beach and is at a public, yet secluded launch ramp. There are no signs for the excursion and no toilets there.

Captain Gerald is the way to go. Truly a unique experience. He has so much knowledge of the area and seeing his personal camp is really neat! He even let the kids feed the baby alligator and fish that hang out by his dock. We loved our trip and can’t wait to do another. So glad we booked with Gerald to have the true Everglades experience. Captain Gerald took us on a full sunset tour, where we saw at least 8 gators, along with tons of other wild life. He graciously invited us to his home and showed us his conservation efforts. Truly a unique and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you so much Captain Gerald!

Loved this experience and so glad we took the time to do it. Only regret was not doing a longer tour. Saw lots of gators and other wildlife. Very happy and lucky to meet Capt. Gerald and tour his home and man-made island.

I found this tour the first time I went looking for a reputable airboat tour company. Here we are two years later and we finally pulled the trigger. It really did live up to our expectations. The fact that Gerald, the captain, lives out in the Everglades and gives you a personal tour of his homestead is kinda remarkable. I don’t think a tour of the Everglades without this additional feature will ever be able to live up to this experience. He is a friendly tour guide with a great sense of dry southern humor. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

What a great experience. We booked the private tour and it met all of our expectations! Captain Gerald is by far the best. We saw his YouTube video and knew we had to book it with him. You will not be disappointed. He lives in the middle of the Everglades and if you’re lucky he will take you by his place. I recommend the tour that brings you back at dusk. Did I mention Captain Gerald is single ladies?!
