Very quiet even know two couples and an older woman taking professional photographs were close by. The rippled calm waters reflecting the sunsets colors in the water were absolutely memorable for eternity

This is also site for caloosa Indian mounds and it felt very holy to me thinking of all the people who have enjoyed the earth here and when the horizon is wrapping itself around from north to south is a good time to travel up the hill to embrace. There is a sign with info written about the Calusa Indians who dwelled there

The bridge was destroyed with hurricane Ian sept 28, 2022, and so, it is blocked off now and a local resident said that it was very nice to go on prior to hurricane Ian, but has not been fixed since. There are photos online of the bridge pier that went all the way out and appears made of wood in March 2022 which is prior to hurricane Ian.

I parked by the corner house and about got stuck in the wet sand and the house there was on the ground and now, being built up on stilts. I put a photo on here from before hurricane that was prior to Hurricane Ian and one now so you can see the differences.

There is another pier down further, but says private property

There is a memorial stone to the right of pier entrance in memory to Joyce James who loved coming to that place.

The sand was very wet and mushy so a local said it happened after hurricane Helena that brought in a lot of high waters. Hurricane me Milton on Oct 9, 2024, brought winds that peaked higher than Katrina but, less deadly.

While I was there, I heard jumping mallet fish as the locals report they are called. Many birds were chirping away and the music was pleasant. I heard it’s the spot to kayak in these shallow calm waters.

If you enjoy sunsets then this is a place to go!

Great place to launch a kayak. Very small parking lot. Probably a great fishing area, but we didn't fish. Quiet spot, very shallow waters so there weren't a ton of boats.

Beautiful little area. Small parking area, no crowd. Pretty mangrove and the fish were jumping regularly. Gorgeous sunset. Not a big space, no amenities, just the monument plaque and the small area. Still, it was really pretty. Kayak launches here as well.
There is a pier but it's marked as private property.

Great sun set. Only enough parking for 4 cars. Nice small kayak launch between the bushes. Small pier for fishing.

I visited Pineland Monument Park on a sunny afternoon and I was amazed by the beauty and history of this place. The park is small but well-maintained, with a few parking spaces and a pier (close now ) that extends over the water. The view of the sunset from the pier was breathtaking, and I could see the island of Cayo Costa in the distance. The park also has a plaque that tells the story of the Calusa Indians, who used this site as a temple ground. I learned a lot about their culture and heritage from reading the plaque. The park is free to enter and there is no fee for fishing from shore, but you need a saltwater fishing license. There are no other amenities like bathrooms or lighting, so plan accordingly. I recommend this park to anyone who loves nature, history, and tranquility.

Great place to launch your kayak, though only a few parking places. There is plenty of parking down the street at the park, however, and it's worth it - Pine Island Sound is gorgeous!
