PNH provides the life magic I seek year after year. You will struggle to find words to describe the intensity and magnificence of the experience they will provide in these remote peaks. I have bonded with so many new friends including other riders, staff, and guides who treat you like family and give you the whoop of stoke when they see your mind being blown in the steep powder of Alaska.

Points North Heli is the ultimate camp for wannabe ski bums like me. They have about one member of the team for every guest. They treat you like a peer even though all of them are better skiers than most of guests ever will be. I can't say enough about the team here. They are really awesome people.

The food is outstanding. There is plenty to eat in between meals as well. No need to buy food.

You have the opportunity to sign up for a massage with a couple of masseuses on staff. Haven't done it yet, but I've heard good things.

There is a really neat sauna that's wood fired. No hot tub. Hit the sauna then jump in the ocean and go back in the sauna. Trust me it's awesome.

You stay at the Orca Adventure Lodge. It's not the Ritz, but that's not why you're here. I don't like the Ritz personally. Too stuffy. This place is exactly what you need after a long day of skiing. It's really easy to walk from where the helicopters take off to the dining hall and then to the hotel room.

You see incredible wildlife right out your window including otters and bald eagles.

Should you need to get to town or have a down day, someone is always happy to give you a lift. It's more of a hitch a ride kind of operation versus some scheduled shuttle bus. But again you're here to get away from scheduled shuttle buses. So if you like scheduled shuttle busses, don't come here.

The Wi-Fi was good enough so I could work right here and never leave.

If you are an advanced skier or snowboarder, put this on your bucket list.

I have been to Points North for 10+ weeks over the last 5 years, and I will go back every year for as many weeks as I can until I can’t snowboard any more. I spend my entire year from the time I leave PNH, looking forward to getting back to PNH and the Chugach.

Their access to exclusive terrain in the Chugach Mountains is enormous. Unlike Valdez, at PNH almost of the time you are flying around with no other heli operations in the same area. Their terrain includes some of the biggest, well-known lines on the planet. Even after riding there for years, I am still seeing new and interesting terrain every time I am up there.

Accommodation at Orca Lodge is comfortable, well serviced and importantly, right beside where your helicopters are parked ready to take you into the mountains each day. All your meals are included, and the kitchen crew do an incredible job of feeding you delicious home-cooked style meals. They are also super helpful with my dietary restrictions, and happen to be some of the best skiers and snowboarders you’ll ever ride with.

The guides at PNH are the stuff of legend. Professional, careful, amazing humans who are just as, if not more stoked to be in the Chugach mountains than you are. Decades and decades of experience between them, these people know this enormous tenure like the back of their hands.

I can’t recommend PNH enough. I have ridden the lines of my life with this team, and my life was forever changed the day that I first stepped into the Alaskan mountains with them.

Book your trip with them immediately, don’t hesitate. As the saying goes, if you don’t go to Alaska this year, you’ll just be another year older when you do.

Best possible Alaska Heli experience!

You become one with your group, the other groups, the lodge staff, the guides, the pilots, everything. You can have a "resort" experience anywhere. If you want your heli trip to center around skiing and the communal experience, PNH is your place.

Skied mid-March in 2023. Lucked out with the weather and got 3 solid fly days. There's nothing like helicopters just for you spinning right outside the lodge parking lot. If the weather works out, you are skiing. If you are grounded, you are doing cool sh!t like glacier hikes, kayaking, going to the shooting range in town and other dope activities like massages.

The weather worked-out, the snow was awesome as was the whole experience. Will be back if I am able.
