Our stay at Rex’s place was absolutely fantastic! The place was impeccably clean, perfectly located, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Rex was incredibly responsive and provided fantastic local recommendations, making our experience even more enjoyable. It was conveniently located to Bridge Street for restaurants & shopping. The view to the left was inner coastal & to the right was view of the Gulf. Most beautiful sunrises & sunsets each day! We would definitely stay here again or one of his other properties in Colorado!

Everything was just like advertised...even better! We really liked the attention to the details...there were even things you were not expecting to be, very clean and quiet....perfect for families or just anybody who wants to relax. You're literally steps away from the beach ( just cross the street). Will definitely use again and will recommend to family and friends!!

This place is AMAZING! It’s quiet and private! It has the best pool and hot tub! It’s a short walk to the beach, dining, and shopping! There is an upstairs unit and a downstairs unit that offer privacy and plenty of room! I’ll be back for sure!

Two years in a row I have stayed in the bottom unit and am hoping to return again next year. The owners are involved in this property which has authentic style - not a recent build with a predictable layout and vibe. The home is very clean, the beds are so comfortable, and attention to detail is evident in what is provided to guests. The location is key!! Short walking distance to beach, bay, and bridge street. And I can’t forget to mention the pool and hot tub! The pool is large enough for many and the hot tub is perfect after walking from watching the sunset on the beach.

This is the third time we've stayed here and we keep coming back because we're a few steps from both the bay and the beach, plus we love the backyard pool. It's also really nice to walk 5 minutes and be at Bridge Street for shopping and restaurants. Thanks to the owners for always being responsive and interested in the guest's experience.

This pool is awesome! I love the charming, vintage vibe of the cottage, it’s so sweet. They do a great job of maintaining that vintage island charm while providing all the things we need. But the pool, I could spend the whole day there, and have. It’s our favorite hang out spot on the island!

We stayed at The Cortez Beach Retreat January/ February 2023. The unit is decorated in old Florida style and is very cozy. Beds are very comfortable as well. The pool area is wonderful. Warm water and a great jacuzzi spa.
Location is perfect right across street from the beach and only a couple blocks from Bridge street . The owner is great to work with. Will definitely return !

We rented the upstairs unit for a week. This place was perfect. My only complaint is probably due to my own lack of due diligence. The description of the listing states it is a duplex unit, it just does not directly state that the outdoor area is shared with the other unit. Now you can infer that since it is a duplex, but I always find it best to not let people make inferences as that leads to confusion. Luckily our neighbors during the week were not bad. They did have a birthday party one day and had about 12 kids over that took over the pool and area, but hey, its vacation. Let the people have some fun and play. We just went to the beach during this time. You can walk from this unit to the beach in less than 60 seconds. You can walk to the bay from this unit in less than 60 seconds. Location of this place is prime and close to everything.

As for the living unit, there is a bedroom with a King bed and dresser. There is another bedroom with two singles. In living room, the couch folds out to a sleeper. This place is perfect for a family of four, two adults and two kids (teenagers). Everything you would need to cook is there, everything needed for pool including towels are there. There is a washer and dryer in the residence. The deck outside is large and has two umbrellas for some shade. Everything was clean upon our arrival and we met the cleaning lady as we parked our car and went to the beach while she completed her job.

As for the outdoor area and pool. This place is great. The pool is large for a private pool. There is a place in the pool to have lunch while sitting in the pool. There is a sunshelf to put your chair on to get sun but still be in the water. There are two locations where umbrellas provide some shade over areas of the pool. The hot tub is great. To use hot tub with very hot water, just make sure you turn it on about 20 mins before you want to get in. The lights in the pool area are great. There are two tables for people to sit, one of those has an umbrella for shade. Outdoor area has a grill. Owners have lots of their own "toys" available. 2 kayaks, plenty of oars, 4 longboards, beach umbrella, 2 beach carts for stuff. Lots of other stuff. There is a ping pong table outside and we wore that out. I would suggest you get some good balls as the one they have were plastic and not real ping pong balls. I think there was one or two real ones, but either our neighbors or the people before us busted those. There are air pumps for the inflatables. You couldnt ask for much more here.

I will absolutely consider going back to this place. I also understand they may have stuff out west in skiing locations as well and I would consider this company for that as well during my next trip out west.
