Sad to see in person, as a resident of Manatee County to see Anna Maria Island demolished by Hurricane Milton it really hurts. But the resilience of Our Town is to rebuild and here it is October 20 and several Restaurants have reopened . We Are Florida Strong! Please plan your next trip to our area several Hotels are open and I am sure rentals will become available by Christmas 2024.

We enjoyed our weekend immensely at Rod and Reel Resort. The location cannot be beat and we loved having access to fresh towels, water sport items, and bikes - making getting to Pine Ave or the beach a breeze. Parking was a little stressful (as it is on the island as a whole) and we needed a little more instruction than was provided on the parking pass. Also, our door code didn't work at first, but Ty was quick to answer our call and help us with access... Overall, you cannot beat this spot for a gorgeous sunrise, the amenities and the location!

The Rod and Reel Resort so graciously accommodated us last minute. We have been coming to the island for years and this is our first time staying at the resort & we definitely will be back! They allowed early check-in and the staff was wonderful to us, we spoke to Suzette on the phone and she was lovely and so accommodating! Our room was amazing and set up perfectly for a family we were in suite 3 which had a kitchenette with sink fridge and a cute little breakfast nook. There was a couch and TV with a king bed and a jack and jill style bathroom connecting to another room with a queen bed and bunk beds! The outside area is gorgeous nestled next to the pier on the bay. Paddle boards, kayaks, bikes, a beautiful pool & spa with pool chairs perfect for laying out and umbrellas, outdoor grilling area and lounge. Not to mention the view is unmatched with a guaranteed dolphin show daily with just stepping out of the back gate onto the beach of the bay! This is a beautiful property on a slice of paradise. Highly highly recommend!!!
Donโ€™t forget to stop next door at the Rod and Reel pier for fishing and grouper sandwiches and the mexican grouper dish.
Some of the recommendations seem as if they are for the pier, this is the resort next door

Don't waste your money coming to this "resort." After driving several hours, we arrived to the "resort" with not enough parking spaces for guests. You can park in a rough, rocky public parking lot adjacent. They have no handicap parking either. Upon entering our 2bed/2 bath--(Grand Suite # 6) it was nicely decorated and spacious. You are given a code before check-in because no one is on the property. We left for a few hours to shop & grab dinner. When we returned--to get ready for bed, it was about 9:30, I pulled down the comforter to find stained & dirty sheets. NO ONE IS ON THE FACILITY!!!! I had to call someone (Ty) around 10pm and his response to me was ---Ya know, I live an hour away and I have to come there Are you serious At over $3,000 for 4 nights...and no one can assist with dirty sheets. He finally showed up after 11 and was rude and inconsiderate. He made ME change the sheets myself...he wanted nothing to do with it!! So unprofessional.....Next morning, we leave to go get breakfast and come back to no parking....Another joke! I drove around and waited for a spot and nothing....I had to find someone (Ty) on the property to address this situation--again rude and no help! He's arguing with me about how I can park on the street or he can take my keys and park my car somewhere, but I have to be back by 8pm, so he can leave and give me my keys back.....Again, are you serious? well, needless to say--We asked to speak to the owners, he was like they won't speak with you.....after several attempts, we told him I wanted to speak with them or I would be checking out and stopping payment--they could care less! So, I left this place...went up the street to other properties where they accommodated us with beautiful rooms, welcomed us and were so helpful. They felt so bad for my family....and took wonderful care of us. Stay somewhere else like the Bali Hai Beach Resort or Anna Maria Beach Resort. |The pictures online depict a beach which is not evident....forget it when the tide comes in you can't sit on the sand at all....and when its low time.....your lucky if you have 10 feet of beach. Save your money and go elsewhere!!!

The resort was very nice . We stayed in #8 the view was breathtaking weather was amazing. Unfortunately there is no one there to assist you when you have a problem. Our door lock was malfunctioning we were locked out for a short time from our room . We keep the sliding doors unlocked until we were able to unlock the door. Again no one returned phone calls no one on property to help us . Theyโ€™re very strict on their rules buyer be aware. We enjoyed our stay but there are nice hotels on AMI that I would stay before going back . Thatโ€™s for a great week . Fix you door locks!!!

Wow!! What can we say? Loved the rooms and you have to love the location.
We felt just like family. We even had friends come down and get rooms because we were so impressed.
Thanks for Ty the property manager and all that he did for us.
Its a must stay for anybody coming to AMI.
We will be back for sure.

The woman that seats everyone is the most rude woman I have ever encountered in all my 57 years of dining out. The inside was full so we asked to sit at the outside tables and order drinks, she would not let us, mind you no one was sitting at the tables outside and the weather was 97ยฐ feels like 115 degrees we wanted to get out of the sun with my eighty year old mother. The Second time we brought visiting family members there, we came up from the beach we had beach cover-ups on but she " same woman" said we needed clothes on. Or we could not eat there. It's a fishing pier for goodness sakes!!! I grew up on Anna Maria island I used to go there for breakfast almost every weekend. They must be new owners. I never experienced such rudeness ever! I will never go back, I will never encourage anyone to go there or bring my visiting friends and family members there. Again the woman that seats everyone, I believe she is a Spanish woman, nothing against Spanish my husband is Spanish. I just don't know her name. she might be part owner very very very rude even mocked us as we were leaving. Very disappointing.๐Ÿ˜ž

Enjoyed our Anniversary at this beautiful resort. I would recommend a place away from home. Even though we had a very windy stay the resort is so peaceful including the fire place at night.
