My wife and I spent a week her around labor day. Checking in was easy front desk ladies were awesome! Explained everything. Condo was clean , everything we needed for the week was there. Took advantage of the free bikes and free beach chairs. Pool area was always clean as well as the beautifully kept garden and deck area on the bayside. Condo conveniently located within walking distance of restaurant. Trolley stop is steps away that will take you from one end of island to the other , also free. Only 1 thing I would change about Condo was the entry system, they still use keys instead of keyless. They actual island itself could use some work on their drainage system. Quite a few standing water areas that made it difficult to walk on sidewalks and ride bikes without veering into traffic or getting splashed by cars. Great time on the island!

If you go to Smuggler’s Cove expecting a fancy resort, you will be disappointed. HOWEVER, what it lacks in “fancy”, it more than makes up for with friendliness and location! The staff is friendly and helpful. Warm clear waters on a private beach are just across the street. There is a free trolley to take people around the island, but also several yummy restaurants within walking distance! Smuggler’s Cove was the perfect place for the laid back vacation we needed!

Amazing location. You have the bay on 1 side and the beach is across the street. You can bring your kayak, paddleboard, or canoe and put in into the bay from the dock which is right outside your front door! The sunsets on the beach are a big deal - they are the best you will ever see. All weekend long there were weddings on the beach. The resort also has a swimming pool. The staff is very friendly. 5 stars plus for Smugglers Cove!

We checked in early and our room was ready, unit 207 on 2nd floor with a view of the bay and garden area. I was a bit worried about this one because google has it listed as a 2 star hotel, RCI says gold crown. I would rate this one as a silver crown. It is an older resort there are actually 3 resorgarden at the ts there the penthouse, the gulf and the smugglers cove. The pool area was clean and well kept but a bit small for the size of the 3 resorts. The garden area had plenty of tables and places to sit and enjoy as well as grills to use. The beach was the best part they do have plenty of lounges for use the water was crystal clear. Unfortunately we had to leave on day 3 because of a hurricane but we will be looking for availability to return. there are places to eat nearby as well as a publix and a free shuttle bus to take you all over the island.

A delight to return to Smugglers Cove Resort! First visit we had a studio, which was lovely, this visit we enjoyed a one bedroom unit, just perfect! The chicken lunch get together is a must do, nice opportunity to chat with others staying at the resort, whether they be first timers or folks who return year after year. Ashley’s energy is an absolute delight!!! Hopefully we’ll be able to return next year!!
