Water's Edge Adventures: Paddleboard and Kayak Tours and Rentals - Crystal River, Florida

On our round trip of Florida and its nature experiences over Christmas, we rented kayaks from Scott for our family including 2 girls age 7 and 9 early January.
The main reason for renting from Water's Edge was that they were a little away from all the others, meaning you could experience manatees and the beautiful bay a bit away from the crowds, which in general makes for a much better experience.

But Scott made our day amazing! He was extremely patient and flexible when we arrived, communicated well, and spent time with us giving us detailed tips on where to paddle, snorkel, tie up our kayaks and more so that we would get to experience the wonderful manatees up close without everything feeling "touristy". He also seems to care deeply about the environment and animal welfare around, which is a big plus for us that don't want to see it all destroyed by mass tourism.

I could use every complimentary word in the dictionary to describe our experience with Water's Edge Paddleboard and Kayak Adventures and it still wouldn't be enough. You could book a journey on the Rainbow River with another company, but your adventure will never compare to the one provided by Scotty and Lena.

It was truly amazing, incredible, and everything in between. We never kayaked before this tour. They gave us a tutorial and the confidence needed to navigate one of the most beautiful rivers in Florida. Throughout the journey, Scotty shared his knowledge of the river, its history, unique attributes, and habitat which only added to the experience.

Our tour took us from KP Hole upriver, down a breathtaking canal, and up to the headsprings before embarking on our relaxing float back down the river. Along the way, we were able to witness turtles, birds, fish, and even an otter in their natural habitat. It was truly magical. Scotty and Lena even made sure we had some time to snorkel before ending our magnificent adventure.

It was definitely the highlight of our vacation and we can't wait to book another tour with Water's Edge.

The tour is perfect for all skill levels. Out of the three of us, I was the most hesitant due to my lack of experience, but again their tutorial was amazing and Scotty even gave me some tips along the way. Oh and the clear bottom kayaks were an added bonus!

Scott and Lena created a one of a kind personal water adventure that is affordable and not like anything else.  Knowledgeable, friendly and passionate their business is unique and creative.
Met them last year when we were on vacation and decided to book a SUP adventure on the Rainbow River in Dunnellon this year.

They took care of everything we just had to show up.  Snorkeling equipment, new SUP boards, wetsuits and a personalized video was all included at no extra charge.

It's something you'll want to experience, it's one of the best water experiences I've ever had.  They discovered incredibly beautiful places and want to share them with you. I Highly recommend. So glad we met them and can't wait to do it again!

My husband and I had such a great time at Rainbow River and were so glad to support a local small business with paddle board rentals. Scotty went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time, he even provided my husband a beach chair to sit on the paddle board because he has a bad back, brilliant! He gave us a bunch of info about the river and where to go and even gave us more time. Super nice guy - I highly recommend renting from them you’ll have an awesome time! 🤙🏼

I can’t say enough great things about Lena and Scotty - they are a local start up, and have a sincere love for the rivers and nature. They have put so much love into their business, and it shows. They are very accommodating, you can’t beat their prices, and you get a unique experience if you choose to do a private tour with them. Wow, what an amazing day! The four hour trip was amazing, the communication prior to the tour from Lena was fantastic and the instructions for arrival were easy to follow. Once on the Rainbow River, Scotty and Lena showed us some for the local wildlife and secret locations which our boys loved- especially ‘the free diving!’ The day went by so quickly and we would highly recommend booking a tour with them; it’s the personal touches that make the difference!
