We tried to have our daughters first birthday party there at 10am on a Saturday. There was no signage about reserving the pavilion or that it was reserved. A random lady walks up to us after we set up saying their church reserved the pavilion at 1pm, we said we'd vacate when they came to set up as nobody was there and there was no signage saying it was reserved or closed for a private party. We offered to move to the picnic tables closer to the playground equipment out of the pavilion area to accommodate when they needed to set up.

Shortly after the Headland Police department showed up and told us we had to leave. We found this hilarious, offered the cop a cupcake as we packed up. We asked to get a picture with the police officer for posterity.(and a great story about our daughters first birthday). He refused, most likely fearing being attached to this story. We were gone by 1115, and still nobody from said event had showed up to start setting up.

The short long of this:

1. You have zero signage saying there is a need to reserve a public park or the pavilion, or who to contact to do so.

2. Your website for the park says zero about reserving the pavilion, who to contact, or the fees to do so.

3. You had zero signage warning other park users that the pavilion was reserved, and you actually wasted overtime money for an off duty cop who showed up in his personal vehicle to come remove us, which could have all been prevented by said signs that would have cost less than the overtime pay.

I had my sons birthday party here today. We rented the pavilion from the city hall of Headland for 4 hours. The pavilion and restrooms were clean and well stocked.
It has several picnic tables both under the pavilion and also through out the park. I LOVE that the entire place is fenced in and it is also a wide open view! I will definitely hold our yearly birthday parties there from here on out and will have several play dates with friends there too!

Quiet little park where the kids can play. It could use a bit of cleaning however.
