1.21.24 We went ice skating today. Staff checking us in was very friendly. The skating was fun. If you've never skated, don't worry. They have these red "walkers" which you can hold on to while you learn to skate. And if you know how to skate, you'll love this outdoor venue. Check their website for public skate hours. There's a $7 fee for non residents to skate. If you need to rent skates, that's another $5.

Super nice public pools! $7admission for Simsbury residences and $9 for everyone else. This is the price for admission for adults not sure about kids. 4 pools total, 2 are for smaller kids one up to 5 feet and the other 10 ft just for diving.

Beautiful place. Went to outdoor ice skating on a 60 degree day in January. I don't blame them for the place looking like a pond on ice by the end of the two hour window for non-members. Courteous folks. First time my toddler used ice skates. At first, the red help glides were useful, but later on I realized they could be a hindrance to learning. Would come again.

Great town space. I have only had great experiences at the golf course and the skating rink. They are both extremely well maintained compared to others in the area. Have not used the tennis courts, pool, or walking path, but all seem to be just as well kept.

Playground review only:

One of the best playgrounds I've been to; it's new, clean, and big. My toddler loved it and so did I. Yes, I went down the slide a few times with my infant and he loved it too.

The view from the playground was also spectacular, the rolling hills of Simsbury. This playground is located near a golf course, rink, tennis/basketball courts, and trail. I have not used those yet, so no review on those.

The playground had a bunch of picnic tables under a gazebo. There were playscapes for 2-5 year olds as well as 5-12 year olds. One of the playscapes has 3 levels if you count the ground. My favorites were the green tube and red swirly slides.

There is a sign to take trash out with you since there are no trash cans. I noticed an older playground down the hill but it was muddy so I didn't go in it. I liked the rubber ground with mulch; smelled really fresh lol. Overall, great playground and will be using it often.

Wonderful place! Came from WH for kids' swim lessons which have been amazing! I was so impressed with the amount of staff for each swim group, my children made advancements in their swimming ability within a day or two. Very clean complex and pleasant experience.
