My (now fiancée) worked with Jill to book a private trail ride and picnic, and surprise proposal!! It was absolutely beautiful, and a memory to last a life time! I cant thank Big Country Equestrian Adventures enough for this experience. We’ll definitely be booking again to go to the same spot to read our vows privately!!

We had an amazing time on our ride with David today! Beautiful scenery, great horses and a fantastic lunch prepared by Jill. This is not your typical nose to tail trail ride. Highly recommend that if you enjoy riding you reach out to Big Country. Leave a message if they don’t answer….they will call you back! They have a variety of rides to choose from. We chose the lunch ride because we wanted a longer ride. Jill reviewed our riding experience (intermediate), lunch choices and other info with us when we made our reservation. We even got to do a little grooming and help with saddling/unsaddling etc.

Jill and David were awesome to work with and did a great job of matching everyone in our group with the perfect mount. The horses were beautiful and obviously well-loved and cared for. Our particular ride stuck to a dirt road, no trails or woods. This was great for our mixed group of youngsters and novices but might not be what everyone is looking for.

Amazing horseback riding experience! From the start we were able to book the day before and they were flexible with time and very friendly over the phone. The location is picturesque with 360 degree views and a mix of pine forest and open country. Our horses were well trained and our guide, David was easy to talk with the whole time. He gauged our skill levels and let us do some trotting and galloping during our ride. This was so much better than your basic “stay in formation” horseback riding tours. And lastly, the amount of time we got to ride exceeded our expectations. We were given plenty of time getting situated at first then we got a full ride in. The adventure was more than worth the price. We will be back next year!

My daughter and I went out on a ride with David and it was, hands down, the best ride we’ve been on! So many trail rides are just nose to tail following along, but not here. You have some freedom and don’t have to stay in formation. The horses are super chill even for my 7 yr old. Great conversation along the trail and amazing scenery. Will definitely be back!

I was originally going to take my daughter to the Garden of the Gods
Horseback riding. It was last minute and I was not able to get a reservation a day in advance. Luckily I found this place and I'm so happy I did. It was very personal, just myself my daughter and our guide. They made us extremely comfortable and really made us feel like family. With Pikes peak in the backdrop, you will ride a trail that is like mountainous desert, forest, and plains. It really was an amazing experience. I'm not real fond of horses but they made sure I was comfortable with the horse before we started. They wouldn't even take my money (not even a deposit) until after we were done and they knew I was happy. Thank you so much for such an amazing memory!!!

We had the best time. Our guide, David, was kind, patient and knowledgeable. We were able to ride through gorgeous countryside while taking in beautiful views. Our horses were super gentle and well cared for. We were treated like royalty and would highly recommend this outfit to anyone.

Wow! I read the comments before and had high expectations. They CRUSHED my expectations. It was so much better than I thought it would be. Dave and Don were incredibly personable and easy to talk to. It was more like going out for a ride with my best friends than with strangers. The horses were great to ride and very friendly. It was clear they care deeply for their horses and for your experience. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.
