Decent place for camping and/or picnic. Trails allow mountain bikes. It's about a 1.25 mile ride to the Oklahoma border with other trails available. Got a 5 mile ride in. Trails are beginner friendly with some intermediate sections. Signs say it's a "picnic area" but no signs that said "no camping." Also noticed someone left some bolts for rock climbing if that's your thing. It doesn't look like difficult climbing and not very high. Stayed here on a Thursday night. Did not see another soul for the 14+ hours I was there.

Picture Rock Canyon in the southeastiest of Colorado could easily pass for New Mexico if you squint. Down 13ish miles of dirt from Campo Colorado super adequate picnic shelters await along with pit toilet and parking. Given the remoteness the NO word is used sparingly with only an ask not to burn down or shoot up the place. The trails are well marked until one achieves the rim at which point all bets are off, pretty map in parking lot excepted. You will have to connect the rubbed out dots on your own to circumnavigate. Back at the picnic table there are four patina encrusted bolted routes visible an energy bar's throw from the comfort of your car. Water? Lug it in.

Canyon Journeys is the best! Laneha took us through the canyon and to Crack Cave at dawn on the equinox. She is very knowledgeable about the area. I can’t wait to go to Carrizo Canyon with Laneha

Worth visiting if you are driving through but note it's about a 30 minute drive on gravel road from Campo. There is camping but only three campsites, so make a backup plan if it's full.

Very difficult to get to and it's down a long dirt road. There's 2 picnic areas but no spots for camping from what I can tell

Beautiful. Got lost several times because trail markings were hard to find. But gorgeous!
