Having now stayed here twice, I can tell you that these are some of the nicest people I've ever met. They are all so kind, they love to have conversation so being in the lobby is never boring, and they are so patient for me, a person who's stayed in maybe three hotels his entire life. They answer all of my questions with great detail and they do it all while smiling and laughing with you. The rooms are extremely clean and well taken care of, and so so comfortable. It's been such a pleasure staying at this hotel and I absolutely will be staying here again in the future! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming in or around the Truckee area, come in and say hi to them!! They're all wonderful people!

This is a very family friendly hotel. The best continental breakfast…including a pancake machine which was a hit with my son! Staff is amazingly helpful and put together. We enjoyed our stay here and will come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff is very helpful. The room is clean and big. We love the hot breakfast which has many selections including pancakes, donuts, waffles, eggs, bacons, etc. There is a coffee machine in the lobby that can make hot chocolate and different types of coffees automatically. The location is perfect -- almost next to the Donner Lake, only 14 minutes local road to Donner Ski Ranch, 5 min to Truckee downtown where there are Safeway and a lot of places to eat. There are also a Tesla supercharger, a gas station with a food mart (where you can buy snow chain!), and Taco Bell right across the road. We will definitely stay here again for our next ski trip.

Do not plan to stay here. My wife and I were suppose to come up for a wedding back in March. She booked through booking.com. It was when the big storm came in and the freeway was shut down leaving us with no choice to not come. Booking.com said the hotel would not give us our money back but would reschedule. My wife has called and emailed the hotel multiple times with no responses. Booking.com also has told us multiple times that they have attempted to contact this hotel with no response. They also said they have already paid this hotel for our stay so no way to refund us. Really bad business practice. Would not book with them.

I’ve never left a bad review before but this experience was so horrendous. The staff member was incredibly rude and refused to give their name. I’ve never encountered that within the service industry so that should have been a red flag. A sudden severe winter storm occurred and I was unable to drive safely to make it to the reservation. The staff member was incredibly unhelpful in contacting the manager to approve the refund and said that the manager themselves may not go in to work that day due to the snow!! How ironic that it’s not safe for the manager who lives there to travel to work, however they cannot provide a refund for a customer who is traveling in that weather.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised. It was much more affordable than other places in the area which normally means you sacrifice/suffer. However, the rooms were clean (and I have a pretty high standard/am really picky) and the staff were nice. I passed on the breakfast but it seemed like many guests were enjoying it. Overall, if you’re looking to be in a beautiful area with decent (nothing mind blowing but very nice for the price) accommodations, I would recommend this place.

Amazing customer service very helpful and cozy place to stay close to Reno and donner lake lots of hiking trails near by as well as fishing camping gaming and great views of the Sierras Kelly the front desk is very helpful and as to please to get your questions answered the hot tub in this place is great suggest it great breakfast every morning

I booked this hotel through Booking.com for a friends wedding.
Unfortunately, this was the weekend, when the roads got closed because of a storm. There’s was no way for me to get there. I had to miss the wedding.
I called Booking.com to refund my cancellation due to weather and closing of the roads. They said it will be up to the lodge to refund me and make an exception.
When I called the lodge the representative was very rude and asked to call later to speak with the manager. I did. The manager was also rude.
Booking.com representative called the lodge to appeal on my behalf.
Not only I missed the wedding due to unforeseen circumstances, but the Lodge rubbed me of my money. They knew there was no way I could get there.
I would not recommend to anyone to stay there. This is how they treat people in crisis.
