We had an amazing time with our family at this awesome cabin in July 2022. The private lake is absolutely beautiful! Many precious memories were made watching our kiddos jump in and out of the water here. The owner Eric was so helpful and quick to reply with any need or question we had. We loved the arcade and the great big dinning table where we not only enjoyed our family dinners but also completing puzzles together. Daily we were greeted by deer and wild turkey sometimes literally at our front door. Hoping to return again for another wonderful stay!

UPDATE AUGUST 2023: We've been here several times since our first stay four years ago. Still wonderful, still highly recommend. A couple of the rooms have even been updated since our first stay. The lake is as beautiful as ever.

We stayed here in July with our three kids (3,7 & 8), this home/location was perfect for our family. Kids were safe and comfortable, which makes Mom & Dad happy! Here's what I wrote to the owners after we left:

I cannot express to you how happy we were with our trip and your home was a major part of that! To be honest, the pictures online do not do justice to show the amount of space we had. I LOVED all the labels and how easy it made everything (TVs, refrigerator, garbage, etc.) to use. All of the outlets and modernization in that aspect were awesome. We all had so much fun in the game room and many hours were spent there with our kids. Our son, 8, loves all things video games and it was a treat to show him games we used to play when we were kids. The walk to the lake was easy. And, oh man, that little lake. What an ideal spot for our family. Our youngest is 3 and we felt so comfortable in that environment for all of our kids. We met your neighbor, Doug, and had some good chats with him. What a guy! Your binder with information was heavily used. We managed to get out and about a little bit: Columbia for gold panning, Lyons Reservoir, Fraser Flats, Pinecrest, my husband even made it way up Sonora Pass for a hike in the snow, while we soaked in the 80 degree weather. Unfortunately our fishing skills are lacking and we didn't catch dinner, but we still had fun trying. I will (and already have) share your rental with anyone looking and we hope to be back in the future. Our kids did not want to come home...we took them to Kauai last year and they didn't say that when we left there.

Thanks for making such a magical place available to the masses. This is a family vacation we will never forget.

Our annual cabin trip at Sugar Pine Cabin was a success! Every year, our small school takes a group of several high school students on a Snow Trip to this cabin. We are a school located in the East Bay Area and quite a few of our students have never experienced snow in person! This is a wonderful opportunity for them to experience something outside of their norms.

This cabin has the perfect set-up for our needs - including a very fun arcade room! Our students were able to bond together and make long-lasting memories here.

I also want to personally thank Eric and Christine for their responsiveness and detailed information. They made our trip very easy to plan and execute! We are already looking forward to our trip next year!

This cabin is amazing!
We went as a group of friends and everyone had their own level with comfy beds.
The game room is unbelievable, we all enjoyed it!
The private lake is absolutely gorgeous! We will be making this a yearly trip!!!

My family and I loved this place. Well situated near a lot of outdoor activities. My son and his friend enjoyed the downstairs game room (Okay, I did too). We rode bikes on the Sugar Pine Rail trail, hiked the Strawberry Rail trail and swam in the Stanislaus River and then for our big outing we did the Pinecrest Lake hike up to Cleo's Bath. It was well worth the effort. Next time I think I will bring my fishing pole. The owners of the cabin are very responsive. We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay! This home was the perfect place for our family get away. It is well kept, clean, and full of awesome amenities! Communication with the host couldn't have been any better. He is very friendly, super easy to reach out to, and made sure our stay and all that lead up to our trip was perfect! We will definitely be booking to stay here again, and highly recommend this home to those looking for the perfect home away from home.

Me and my family of 5 had an awesome time at the sugarpine cabin. It's a great location to hit the slopes at Dodge, pinecrest lake, or the gold country sites by sonora. The owners are very responsive and kind. Place is in great shape, and of course the highlight is the game room. If you enjoy vintage games, you'll love this cabin. Neighbors are friendly too!

Awesome for families with kids. Arcade + 6 twin beds in the loft were a hit with the kids. The adults spent 90% of the time in the common area which was big enough for our large family meals and hanging out. We will be back.
