Beatiful spot of Angeles Crest Highway 2 near Chilao. On the border between San Gabriels forest and the High Desert of California. Where there is water things thrive and are brilliant green. Where there is no water things survive and dream of rain from the distant clouds.

A BEAUTIFUL Trail . We hiked in the snow and it was amazing .. parking at the campground is even more fun. Be careful of river , don’t cross if you aren’t prepared to get wet and have extra clothes . Especially in winter since water is freezing cold. We walked in 30 degree weather but didn’t have water proof boots to cross river. No matter the hike is amazing.

Last time I came here is just dry and not that impressive. This time it’s simply just “wow~” water is everywhere and water sound is everywhere ~. Besides the most famous huge waterfall cooper canyon fall, there is a smaller but still awesome water I named it Burkhart fall. Hope you guys can find it too as I just added it to the google map

Awesome hike! Drive pass the camping area and you’ll get to a hiking parking lot. The trail is 3 miles round trip, plan accordingly. Can be muddy at some places so probably not the best trail to walk out your favorite pair of shoes. The trail goes through a wonderful canyon full of trees and flowers.

Trail is blocked by a number of downed trees and the trail is eroding because of the burn area
