We rented a pontoon boat for 4 hours of great fun and relaxation. What an experience! We had made reservations via phone from Colorado and didn't quite know what to expect. It was all good. Our niece and family enjoyed the time with us also. We packed a picnic lunch and had a wonderful day. Thanks Deb and staff!!

Good for boating, but not so great for "beach" time....steep sandy area to put easy ups...only has porta potty, can't use the Marina restroom....No shade.

We had an okay time, the boat was in pretty bad shape, nothing really worked on it except the motor. (Gauges didn't work, No radio, and some of the seats were even missing.) The worst part is that there were a TON OF TREES just sticking up from out of the water that they don't even mention!! It definitely took a lot of the fun out of it trying to make sure we didn't hit a random tree that might be barely sticking out from the water and lose our deposit and possibly have to pay more for damages. Would not recommend, I don't think we'll be coming back here - it just sucks it's the only place to rent boats at the lake.

French Gulch has a very nice renting place, which is not very expensive. We rented a fishing boat and spent some quality time on the lake. The boats are quite small and simple, but overall they are okay for roaming Lake Isabella! The employees are also very nice!

We spent the 4th of July weekend at the French Gulch Marina and on a pontoon boat rental. The marina store was well stocked with water-shoes, snacks, beer and ice cream. The entire staff is fun, hard working and helpful.

I am shocked they would want the pontoon we rented associated with their name. It was not running well and was very beat up. It ran very slow and idled really high. Neither the fuel gauge nor speedometer worked. The seats were torn up, the decks were nearly worn through and metal pontoons and frame were severely bent. This must have been the out of towner special.

The people here are wonderful. I showed up with 3 adults and 9 teenage boys and the staff here were so helpful and patient. They got us going on a couple jet skis and several kayaks and we all had a blast. It made such a difference that they were so friendly and patient. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We reserved 6 days in advance for a holiday, jic. The lady who runs the place is awesome and considerate, we had a great time and my 5 year old can’t wait to go back for more!!
