Erika is a joy to work with, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly as a wedding designer and planner. What I appreciated most about Erika’s approach is how she really gets to know you as a couple and listens to you deeply throughout the process. As a result, our wedding was a true expression of our personalities and what my husband and I care about.
PLANNING PHASE
You’ll spend exponentially more time planning and looking forward to your wedding than you will at the actual event, and Erika made the whole planning experience fun, meaningful, and full of joy.
My husband and I envisioned our wedding weekend as an opportunity to knit our communities together, and we wanted to pay particular attention to how we could create experiences that would help people forge connections throughout the weekend. Erika helped us achieve our goal with so many cool and meaningful details, from facilitating an interactive game at our welcome dinner to helping us design an art gallery escort display featuring photography and paintings by our friends and family.
I also appreciated how Erika supported our specific desires. From silent vows to homemade invitations and menus, Erika encouraged us to exercise our own creativity and helped us turn our ideas into reality.
Erika is a magnet for wonderful vendors who are as kind as they are professional—from rental installations to floral design to hair and makeup, everyone we worked with was lovely and Erika made coordinating between everyone look easy.
Finally, I should note that we got married on my family’s private ranch, which is a remote property with limited cell reception and no Wi-Fi. This makes planning events extra challenging. Erika’s effective, proactive communication and attention to detail made sure everything went smoothly, from site visits to installation to teardown.
WEDDING DAY
After all this planning, Erika made sure my husband and I let go of all of that so we could be present and enjoy the wedding weekend. She did this by giving us a pep talk before the festivities began and making sure we had breaks throughout the day to enjoy each other’s company.
Every wedding day has unforeseen issues—ours were wind and a faulty portable restroom—and Erika took care of these issues with grace, without our even knowing! It’s hard to create an experience that is simple, natural, and (seemingly) effortless, and this was what guests commented on most.
We would enthusiastically recommend Erika to any couple looking for a wedding planner who will champion their vision, care for and respect their specific desires, and bring a design eye to the aesthetic and human components in equal parts.
