If you want a small group experience where you can interact directly with the passionate people who make the wine, this is your tour! It was the highlight of our first visit to Santa Barbara. Scott picked us up from our hotel in his Mercedes shuttle and led us on a 6-hour adventure into the wonderful world of wine in Santa Barbara. We traveled to three wineries specializing in smaller batches, direct-to-consumer, but incredibly high-quality wines. "Amazing" is the only word that comes to mind from this experience. The wines we tasted on this tour were some of the best we have ever tasted. If you want to learn about the passions of some exciting winemakers, and you want to do so on a small scale and personal level, this is your tour. Spend a few extra $$ and book this tour. You won't be disappointed!

We’ve done different wine tours in Santa Barbara and elsewhere and this tour with Scott was by far the most personal, intimate and private. Scott is incredibly attentive and passionate about the region. The wine we had at each of the three wineries were unique and high quality (ended up going home with multiple bottles because they were all that good and so reasonably priced). We got to meet each of the winemakers - they stayed with us through the tasting explaining the family and vineyard history, but had plenty of private time to enjoy the wine and explore the vineyards as well. Highly recommend.

We had a great time with Scott and his tours. Amazing wineries and I would highly recommend. Scott took us three private wineries we wouldn’t normally have access to. We got to meet with the actual wine makers and converse with them about their process and allowed us to have true leaning about the wine in this region. Scott provided a first class experience with a very comfortable van, delicious lunch and snacks thought the day. If you want to experience and learn about the Santa Barbara wine region I would definitely recommend this tour.

We had an amazing private tour. Nothing like we’ve ever been on before. Got to actually meet the vintners. It felt like they opened their homes to us…insights on how they started in the wine business and the stories behind each of the wines they produce. Scott was a great tour guide! He knows the ins and outs of the whole area…very knowledgeable. Also, having a delicious lunch laid out for us on real plates and linens with an amazing view of the vineyards…wow!!

Our group had a blast with Sustainable Wine Tours! Everything from pre-planning (preparing us for the weather) to execution was impeccable. I think what I appreciated the most was the selection of the specific vineyards, which were all private, sourced by enthusiastic producers, and excellent. Scott did an excellent job keeping us on time, serving us lunch, making cheeseboards for us, and keeping us entertained the whole time. What sets the experience a part was just how we could experience the scenic Santa Barbara landscape and feel like we were part of the community from every place we visited. While we are picky drinkers, we enjoyed the full range of wines, from white blends to well rounded Cab’s. We will be back!

Of the many options we had in selecting a wine tour, we definitely chose the best one in the Santa Barbara region! Sustainable Wine Tours provided us a unique opportunity to visit three private family-owned wineries, where we met with the owners and heard about their passion for winemaking, and of course, sampled superb wines!
Everything was carefully orchestrated from start to finish with no detail forgotten by our fabulous guide, Scott. His knowledge of the region enhanced our experience as we travelled in his luxurious Mercedes van while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Santa Ynez Valley.
