Hiked the Elk River Trail and it was the most amazing, quiet, and serene hike I've ever been on. It made Redwoods National Park seem busy and touristy.

I love this place, it is a favorite hiking spot for sure. There are a variety of different landscapes such as creeks, waterfalls, meadows, sun, shade, different forms of trees, and of course salmon spawning. The first three miles are a pretty low grade out and back, but the last five are a steeper grade with a loop at the end, passing through old growth on a much narrower trail.

Plenty of places to rest. Lots of informational signs. Sad that the river is almost dried up. Poor fish.

Guided tours are spectacularly knowledgeable. It's a treat to be able to experience the ancient Redwoods and their magnificence.

I didn't hike all the way into the Grove, but the trail was gorgeous with the new growth of spring, which should last through the summer. The trail is nice and wide, and wheelchair accessible as far as I went. It is a very nice place to hike before the crowds come.

Great place to hike! It is a 5 mile trek in with a loop at the end and a 5 mile walk back out. The first mile is paved and there are nice resting spots along the 4 miles in, the last mile is pretty steep but definitely worth it. Dogs are allowed off leash, but only for the first two miles.

Trails for all levels of experience. Wide flat paved beginning visited by walkers, runners, strollers (yes the kind with babies in them) ? For the more advanced and adventurous... the sidewalk ends at the one mile mark and it just gets more beautiful from there!
I've only gone ~2 1\2 less or so. So I have tons to still explore for the first time!
Every time is an adventure cuz it's never the same forest twice ?
